We do love Imperial Café Racer. The combination of smooth espresso and Madagascan vanilla is just fabulous. However, allowing it to rest in Bourbon barrels for nine months and creating this amazing brew was definitely time very well spent!

Bottle split at L42, thanks to Kenny, 23/01/17. Black with a decent tan head. Nose is coffee grinds, charr, spice, bourbon tickle, dark chocolate. Taste comprises roast malt, lighter coffee presence, charr, chocoalte, toffee, light fruit esters, black peppery spice, subtle bourbon. Medium + body, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a lick of booze. Drinks well for the ABV.

Level 42 Bottleshare. Opaque dark brown beer, good dark tan head. Palate is softish and semi dry. Decent fine carbonation. Smooth dark malts. Tangy dark fruits and tangy rich coffee. Modest fruity bourbon. Tangy dry finish. Yeah quite tangy but flavoursome.

Bottle shared in London - big thanks to Kenny. Pours deep black-brown with creamy, tan head. The nose has some burnt peanut butter, chocolate, moderate roast. Medium sweet flavour with more hearty chocolate, lightly tangy berries, ash, woody dryness. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Dry and ashy on the finish, some woody dryness, boozy warmth, dried leathery berries. Not bad.

Bottle at casc, Aberdeen. It pours jet black with a tan head. The aroma is pretty amazing... rich, unctuous, sweet coffee, vanilla, roasted malt, rocky road, toasted marshmallow, dark chocolate bounty bar and dried cherry. The taste is rich roasted malt, plenty of vanilla coffee, toasted coconut, macaroon, chocolate, chewy malt, tobacco, dried cherry and toffee crisp and lion bar with a dry finish. Medium - full body and fine carbonation. Pretty great all-round. Rich, yet balanced.
