Cask at the merchant. A clear reddy copper coloured pour with a lasting loose beige head. Aroma is nice layered malts, toasted nuts, autumnal, toffee. Low woodland fruit. Flavour is composed of semi sweet rounded characterful malts, toffee, low raisin, liquorice. Assertive bitterness. Palate is semi sweet, rounded, good cask condition. Like it a lot.

Cask handpull at Fuggles Beer Cafe Tonbridge. Deep brown chestnut colour lasting beige head. Condition isnt great. A nutty best bitter. Decent enough malts but an odd metal oil hop flavour. Malty aroma is ok. Light chocolate. Shame about thd condition and the strained. hop

Cask at the Cock Tavern - Hackney. Pours clear reddish brown with a flimsy, off-white foam head. The nose holds leaves, earth, leathery berries. Light sweet flavour, astringent, some further leafy character, over-extracted English breakfast tea. Light bodied with soft carbonation. Harsh finish, more astringency, aggressive grassy and leafy bitterness. Not great.

Cask at the Grape and Grain, Crystal Palace. Copper coloured pour with a white head. Caramel, orchard fruit and sultana aroma. Flavours of caramel with a whisper of orchard fruit. Heavy on the malt. Bitter, malty finish.

Cask at Beer Rebellion, GH. It pours clear mahogany brown with a small white head. The nose is bitter - sweet, caramel, light spice, wood and some peach. The taste is bitter, toasty, earth, leather, spice, caramel and light charred notes with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Fairly straightforward. Drinkable bitter.
