Bière 33 cl bue au Beerchope à Lille. Nez sur le café torréfié, notes de sauce worcestershire, champignon, forêt, côté légèrement aigre et acidulé, le tout est très acenant. En bouche cela se confirme, avec un aspect torréfié, du café, du fruit rouge mûr, une pointe d'acidité avec un ensemble qui reste pourtant assez léger.

Côté intensité, pas de soucis, nous avons ce qu'il faut avec cette Page 24. Ca déménage pas mal avec de beaux arômes de café et chocolat. Mais cet Imperial Stout voit ses limites avec une complexité pas au niveau des grandes, et un équilibre perfectible provenant notamment d'un alcool pas assez bien intégré. En verre, noir total avec une mousse brune et crémeuse se stabilisant à 5 mm. Le nez se porte directement sur le café et le chocolat avec cepedant un alcool qui se ressent et vient légèrement les perturber. A la dégustation, ce ne sont pas les arômes de café et choclat qui s'expriment en premier lieu. L'attaque est d'ailleurs un peu acidulée avec un Styrian Golding (mono houblon) qui confère ce côté fruité de citron et agrumes. La deuxième bouche est encore sur cette présence fruitée mais avec un chocolat qui vient s'affirmer. L'arrière bouche par contre, nous dévoile de beaux arômes francs de café et chocolat avec une excellent eprésence en bouche. Nous aurons également les mêmes arômes sur la suite de la dégustation avec un final très long mais où l'alcool vient dissoner quelque peu. Le sucre et l'amertume (EBU de 30) sont quant à eux bien dosés. Il y a encore quelques progrès à faire, mais avec les enouragements du jury!

Thanks! Sampled draft @ Hoppy Loft. Black. Nose is very vegetable coffee, hugely umami coffee & soy sauce with a dash of Teriyaki sauce. Taste is all soy sauce, umami roots, umami coffee, herbal, soy sauce, plants, Worchester sauce,… Thick soy sauce body. Not bad for what it is but I am not into umami & soy sauce stouts, especially one that is to heavily just that.

Keg at Delirium Hoppy Loft. It pours jet black with a small, but sturdy tan head. The aroma is earthy, toasty, dark roast, woody, cocoa, chocolate cake and fruit cake. The taste is dry, bitter - sweet, rich roast, cocoa, chocolate cake, sticky, oily, boozy, coffee cake, gateaux, chewy, spice, earth, leather and boozy finish. Medium - full body and fine carbonation. Pretty boosty and intense. Fun nonetheless.

Bottle @ home. Black with a small beige head. Smells liquorice, salty, salmiak, roasty. Tastes roasty, liquorice, sweet, hint of iron, dark malt, salmiak. Full body, soft carbo. Not bad but I prefer the chocolate stouts over the liquorice stouts.

Bottle. Dark brown color, cloudy, coffee foam. Aroma: roasted malts, chocolate, yeast, port wine. Taste: caramel, yeast, wine, dried fruits.

At a tasting, small creamy head, opaque very sark brown color, arom of prunes, balasami, vanila, minerals and dark bread in the back, flavor of dark chocolate, cocoa, chocolate liquor, minerals and dark bread, quite sweet. Nice.

Bottle at home, 20th May 17. Pours black, with a slight head. Aroma is liquorice, chocolate, cocoa, peat. Taste is liquorice, dry, not too sweet, dark chocolate, roasted malts and some ash. Palate slightly thin, but overall a great impy.
