Bottle. Unclear brown body with a fluffy tan head. Strong aroma of malt, caramel, dry fruit, acidic red fruit, hint of chocolate, wood and slightly funky. Flavor has a nice balance of sweetness and acidify, malt, caramel, light chocolate, dry fruit, berries, wood, nice bitterness and pleasant funk. Fine body and long lasting aftertaste. Really complex and very tasteful, highly enjoyable. Really wish I had a few more of this.

Shared 750 ml bottle at Mandag i Annen, Cardinal, January 2025. Brown colour, not overcarbonated, just the right carbonation. Has matured nicely on the bottle. Notes of malts, oak and port wine in both aroma and flavour.

375mL bottle, pours a rusted dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma is complex, with loads of red wine barrels, tons of oak, and tart red fruits. Flavour is woody and vinous, with lots of red wine barrels, plenty of wood, light bugs, and balsamic. Vinous, wood, and full of dried dark fruits. Full of red wine and wood in remarkable balance. Wonderful stuff.

Fully opaque yellowish dark brown beer with a very fine cream-yellow head, fast gone. Vinous, wild yeasts, nearly rotting fruit. Hints at acetic, lots of lactic acid. Portwine in the nose, but not as madeirisation. Some roast, melanoidins, wood, dark red fruit hints, again vinous. Acidity arrives as an afterthought, but not clashing, almost like sangria oranges, making for a great aftertaste. Not really full-bodied, but chewy and warming, smooth with an (acidic) edge. Complex as few - but Nøgne Ø do. Great beer.

On tap at Nødingen, Zwanze Day. A brown, hazy beer with a dense, off-white head and some curtains. It's lightly vinous on the nose, funky and with some roasted malts, hints of dark bread and pepper, some leather and a faint lemon touch. It's lightly vinous on the palate, with some alcohol warmth and a nice carbonation level. Full body. The flavor is pretty similar to the aroma, rather vinous, with a light funk, and also some berries and a vinegar burn that feels more like a light chili burn. Long finish. A delicious, sort of tricky to define beer with a balance, still lightly out of balance. 180929

375ml bottle from Anndiesel for Christmas 2018. Slight gush upon opening, controlled. Creamy beige head on top of a black-brown body. Deep brett aroma, coupled with some eaten up dark malts, some funky grape/port tones as well. Really leans into the leathery, horseblanket tones...some balancing sweet, devolved caramel/chocolate tone as well. Oud bruin tone shows more as it breathes. Quite a unique creature, holds up well for the 5 year aging process. A slow sipper, a lot going on, nice to savor.
