Bottle. Perfect amber color. Aroma is praline and hints of can’t corn. Taste is slightly sweet "Payday" like with toast and a slight hoppy finish.

$2 single from Appalachian. 7/25/23 stamp. Mojito glass @home. Clear, dark copper, frothy, purty pour. Baked, floral almond, nicely toasted. Almond, pancake, bitter pith, light but lingering pithy zest, hidden acid, sharp & thin char crust finish. Thin, adequately carbed, chewy. This is great.

The Aromas are caramel malt with hints of roast and fruit. The appearance is traditional with a deep brownish red that looks like Vienna malt. Flavors are disappointing to me, very little sign of Vienna malt or roast. Flavors Trend sweet with a hint of bitter, fruit, toffee and a little caramel. Maybe a hint of roast in the Finish.

Nice label on bottle. Big strong impressive fest beer impressions. Totally big blast beefsteak. So strong so rich so malty and even a little cloying, whew. Yes big time okto fest. Leaves a medicinal feel on the palate when finishing in the end. Cloudy darker beer but not really dark. Has a creamy head on it. Smells malty and a little volatile. Decent cutting co2.

Pour is a deep dark amber with a large tan head. Aroma is toasted bread crust with various other grains. Flavor is more bready malts but this version of a marzen has more of a sweeter toffee and caramel to it. The sweetness does not make this as chuggable as most marzens but did give it a more richer body. Flavorful but a little bit sweeter than the mainstays of the style.

Sways wildly between indulgently sweet and strikingly bitter, offering up huge buttered caramel and toffee notes before drying out considerably for the floral, lingering finish. Gains a nutty depth on the back end, while the fade offsets the clingy hops with hints of toast and honey. Pours a dark, dark brown-orange, but gives up a slight head with very little lace. Sweet nose smells like autumn in a pint. Perky texture verges on overcarbonated, but not quite. Overall a bit too heavy-handed for my tastes.

Growler from Green’s in Columbia. Caramel malt and metallic hops aroma. Dark amber with nice big head. Light caramel malt and hops but with a fairly strong metallic flavor as well. Mild carbonation - decent drinkable festbier.
