Porter gains it’s robust, full-bodied flavor from dark rich barley malts. We use a blend of munich, crystal, pale ale, black patent and chocolate malts. To these we add hops, filtered water and ale yeast. No adjuncts, additives or preservatives… Not pasteurized.

Light brown. Light cocoa nose with the faintest hint of nuts. Full body. Rich chocolate, light coffee. Rounded. Toasty finish. Surprising malt depth.

Bottle from TheBeerGod. Thanks! Also, my first South Carolina beer. Pours a medium brown with a small head. Chalky, earthy, slightly mocha aroma. Taste is very much peat and dirt. A hint of sweetness. A little thin.

Nicely balanced, comfortable to drink, this porter is very solid. Dark brown pour with light brown head. Nose was sweet with notes of roasted malts, coffee, vanilla, chocolate, prune. The flavor was better. Moderately to heavily sweet with a nice acidic finish and moderately bitter aftertaste. Full bodied with a slightly chalky feel, but smooth enough. Very nice.

Fiery hazy red-brown translucent body, thin off-white head. Rich chocolate and toasted malts proliferate in the aroma, with hints of marshmallow and grape. Earthy and chalky. The body opens with a short-lived tart bite, and is quite chalky, chocolatey, and toasty with a sweet vinous character. Lingering earthy hops finish. A refreshing complex yet subtle porter. Thanks bu11zeye!

Bottle. Light sour milk, molasses malt aroma. Opaque black-brown color with small head. Smooth creamy chocolate malt flavor with a light hops finish. Lighter body. Smooth and clean tasting if a bit on the light side.

Thanks to Matta for sending this one! Looks like a good Porter should, dark, almost black with ruby highlights. Rich, creamy, off white head. Aroma is chocolate cookie and coffee. The palate is soft and creamy with a nice chocolate malt flavor. A well done Porter.

Dark brown colour, about 95% opaque with only a little of the brown showing up when held to a light. Thin (1 centimetre) tan head. A very nice aroma consisting of coffee, pit fruit, roasted malt and even a subtle sweetness. Full-bodied; Strong coffee flavours all the way through breaking down to some malt characteristics followed by a bit of the sweetness (primarly from raisins). Aftertaste actually fairly bland compared to the depth of the taste and only minimally bittering the mouth. Overall, a great porter, most likely one of the best i've had. If you can find this beer, definately pick one up...but as mabdoney mentioned-'He must share the wealth' and that he did...I got my twelve ounce bottle from him in a trade, thanks Matt!
