Clear 500ml bottle, best before Feb 09, drank in Aug 08. The label claims it is a ’Pale Ale’. Poured into a straight pint sleeve glass. Light amber in colour, with a good foam blanket of white bubbles sat on top. Slight haze, but not cloudly. Aroma of candy-floss, but not sickly, just sweet. There is some vanilla in there, but not sure I’d have picked that up without the label leading me to it! The taste is sweet as well, but a bitterness fights back as you sip the beer and it becomes harsher as the beer warms in the mouth and throat. There is a good hop presence too. The beer has a drying effect on your mouth, and it made me burp a bit, so plenty of carbonisation I suppose. Can’t call it refreshing, but it is a decent beer and one with a different feel and taste to it compared with most other British Brews.

23rd May 2008. Very smooth ale - has an almost silky feel. The slight hoppyness is nicely offset by the distinct vanilla streak. Dry finish with a touch of hop bitterness.

Bottled. Clear, a bit pale, golden beer with a small, off-white head. Malt, bubble-gum and fruity hops in the aroma, who feels a bit like artificial tropical fruits. Both sweet and bitter flavor with tropical fruits, hops and malt. Medium body and a long bitter finish. Quaffable, but I would like some more malt in it. (070331)

Aromas of vanilla, citrus hop and light malt. Delicious. Coppery gold color with minimal white head. Starts with a definite vanilla flavor, moves to malt, with stone fruit and seems to finish with decent hoppy bitterness.
