Late 2018, we brewed the first batch of Raspberry Crash. We filled two barrels with the base beer before packing: A Red Wine and a Heaven Hill. This bourbon version has been ageing away in our barrel store for 11 months. The beer has picked up flavours of toffee, oak, fudge cake and oak to complement the slightly tart raspberry and chocolate notes of the base beer. Bourbon BA Raspberry Crash is a limited release of a small number of kegs only 69 bottles.

As a big WB fan, I'm afraid this one does not reach the yummyness of the base. There is lots of raspberry, which is somewhat tart, a big amount of lactose, some proper roast, and smooth bourbon.. but none of these flavours blend together. Meh.

Pours black, smell is full, fruity, tad vanilla, bit roasty. Taste is sharp, fruity, almost has a tartness to it. R>oasty. Tad boozy, bit bitter. OK.

30/XI/19 - sample @ Day 2 of Billies Craft Beer Festival 2019, BB: n/a - (2019-2106) Thanks to all for sharing today’s beers!

Aroma: sweet, pretty oxidized, sugary, caramel, chocolate, lots of vanilla, very sweet impression. MF: ok carbon, medium to full body. Taste: sweet start, bit oxidized, nice roast, lots of chocolate, vanilla, sweet, some blueberries, raspberries. Aftertaste: sourish, nice roast, lots of chocolate, berries, fruity, nice acidity.
