This Lager is a Dortmunder Export or German style of beer which is also known as the ‘Labourers Pilsner’. This is a perfectly balanced beer in which neither malt nor hops dominate. It’s a deep blonde colour, good hop bitterness and aroma, full mouth feel and crisp finish. The balanced nature of this beer means it’s quite sessionable to drink but technically difficult to brew to a consistently perfect balance. Dortmunder style is well suited to our local water in Drogheda. The best European Pilsner malt provides a complex malt profile, while traditional Saaz hops give the distinctive hop character of the style.

Bottled. Yellowish golden colour small white head. Aroma is fruity, floral, small white head and some earthy tones. Flavour is herbal, floral and some earthy notes with some earthy tones.

0,5 l bottle from Vrutak, Zagreb. Shared with Marko. Unclear golden, small white head. The aroma is grainy and bready, floral hoppy touch, also leaves, a nice herbal component. Some honey or sugar. Green tea. Bready, slightly perfumy sugary flavour, honey, earthy and herbal hops, some bitterness, finishes dry. Light body, moderate carbonation, light finish.

Bottled. Murky golden body, white head. Fruity notes in the aroma, a bit stale, slightly flowery. Soft taste,flowery, lightly fruity, some traces of oxidation. Probably in need of a fresher bottle.

50cl bottle @ Niamey craft beer tasting club, merci Gabi. BB 13/05/2020. Dorée au col blanc. Arôme au nez plaisant houblonné fruité avec de belles notes de fleur et un léger rétro de grains malté. Palais est malté, léger, avec une petite composante anglaise dans le malt, parfumée au niveau des houblons, impression de citronnelle.

Bottled 500ml. -from Vrutak Zagreb. Pale golden coloured, medium sized white head, light grainy nose. Malty, grainy, light herbal hoppy and cereals with bitter finish. Drinkable.

Bottle at home, picked up from Callans, 05/01/19. Very light haze on a pale golden blonde pour with a decent off white cap that dissipates in time. Nose is bready malts, toasted grains, cereals, lemon rind, light spice. Taste comprises pale malts, hint of orange peel, bread dough, grass, toasted grains. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Solid lager.

500 ml bottle at home. Clear yellow amber color, nose of hay and biscuit. Nice creamy mouthfeel, taste is caramel, honey, hay and digestive biscuits. Short finish

Bottle, 4.8%. Hazy golden with small off-white head. Aroma is malt, grainy, straw, hop and grass. Flavour is malt, grainy, caramel, hop, grass, straw, little dry and and a little bitter.
