On tap @Mad for Beer (Rome). Bruna, intensa, schiuma color cappuccino media, non molto persistente. Al naso note di caffè, nocciola, cioccolato. In bocca è dolce all'attacco con chiusura amara caffettosa leggera. Corpo medio, carbonazione medio-leggera. Buona.

Can at home picked up from the experiment. A oily dark brown black coloured pour with a lasting mid tan head. Aroma is woody roast, char, ashy roast, dry roast, meaty. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, nutty roast, earthy, roasted chestnuts, light spice. bark. Palate is semi sweet, medium bodied, fine carbonation. Good robust flavour forward portaer.

440ml can. Pours pitch black with a beige/tan head. Aroma of strong roast malts, a little smoke, ash. Taste is very strong roasty malts, smokey, ashy, coffee, dark chocolate, dry and bitter. Medium bodied, smooth. A proper classic porter, no nonsense.

440ml can shared with Mike @ Station. Pours dark, large frothy pale tan head. Confident roasty nose. Taste surprises with a jagged roasty intro, ashy and woody with some nestled dark chocolate undertones. Kind of expected a standard chocolatey porter really, but this is fantastic, great roast presence without assaulting you with an unwelcome, harsh bitterness. Very enjoyable.

Can from Honest Brew. Black body with a thin tan head. Good lacing. Aroma of dark chocolate, coffee grounds and burnt wood. Flavour of blueberry and dark chocolate. Medium body with a smooth texture. Soft fizz. Dry and ashy. A tasty Porter.
