Bottled. Hazy pinkish red colour with a small pinkish head. Aroma is chery tartness, some mild wooden tones. Flavour is cherries, some wood, mild vanilla, some slight tartness as well. Quite intense, and tasty.

Strong cherry ale aged on bourbon barrels, a creation by one of those new generation Estonian craft brewers, one I never heard of before. Draught at 'Cause Beer Loves Food. Membrane-lacing, pale greyish beige, mousy, medium thick head showing some gaps but otherwise well-retaining, misty amberish bronze colour, very warm and coppery. Aroma of a lot of candied cherry (and even Kirsch) rather than 'real' fresh cherries, honey liqueur, caramel sauce, juice oozing from a medium rare horsesteak, fig chutney, bourbon, rosé wine, sugared rhubarb compote, almond, vague vanilla-ish oaky hint. Sweet onset but not overly cloying, red berries and ripe apple but of course primarily sweet - candied - cherry, softish carb, supple and somewhat vinous mouthfeel. Lightly caramelly body, sweetness of candied cherry sticking a bit in a sugary and honeyish way, very light toasty edge somewhere; the candied cherry flavour merges with sweet bourbon in the end to a Maraschino- and Kirsch-like effect, while a light herbal hop touch adds some balancing bitterishness, but very softly so. Wood effects remain very subtle. Too subtle, I'd say, as a longer barrel treatment would have added more drying tannins and thus provide a more balancing, or even contrasting 'colour' against the sweet candied cherry flavour. Interesting and original, quite pleasant but just a tad too sweet to my personal liking. On a more philosophical side note, I'd love to confront classic sweet cherry beer drinkers in Belgium with this arty-farty, pompous hyperbole of a fruit beer...

Bottle share @ Hansen's, picked it up in Estonia some time ago. Hazy pink red pour with sone white pinkish foam. Light bourbon and touch of tartness, nice but subtle. Taste has some bourbon but quite mild and well balanced (not the first run for this barrel?). Creamy tart cherries mixed with some bourbon glow. Quite nice and well balanced, subtle bourbon makes it feel delicious.

Sampled draft @ TCBW 2018. Murky reddish brown, tanned head. Nose is perfume glue, chemical, bit too weird. Taste is better but strangely sweet desert cake, cherry, sugar, sweet candy, bourbon, caramel. Peculiar but not bad.

Tap at TCBW 2018. Pours amber red. Aroma is some fruits, some cherries maybe, some sourness, sweetness. Flavor follows the nose. Overall: okish, not memorable.
