Can. Pours black with a light brown head that dissipates quickly to the edges. Aroma has dark grains, chocolate and peanut with a slight burning pepper underlying. Flavor has more peppers and dark grains with light roast and sticky peanuts.

Keg at Hackney Church taproom - Hackney. Pours deep brown with a creamy tan head. Hearty chocolate abounds, with some sturdy roast, decent chilli pepper kick. Full bodied, lightly oily, with fine carbonation. Warming finish, moderate chilli burn, more dark chocolate. Good fun.

16 ounce can into snifter, best before 7/2/2021. A bit of a gusher can, but nothing lost. Pours opaque dark brown/black color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy tan head with solid retention, that reduces to a minimal spotty lace cap that lingers. Minimal spotty lacing on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, molasses, toffee, chili pepper, ginger, peppercorn, roasted nuts, toasted biscuit, and dark bread/crust; with lighter notes of licorice, raisin, prune, cherry, fig, date, peanuts, sea salt, smoke, char, leather, tobacco, wood, herbal, grass, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/black/roast/bready malts, chili, ginger, sichuan pepper; and light sea salt, peanut, fruity yeast, earthy hop notes; with big strength. Taste of huge dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, molasses, toffee, chili pepper, ginger, peppercorn, roasted nuts, toasted biscuit, and dark bread/crust; with lighter notes of licorice, raisin, prune, cherry, fig, date, peanuts, sea salt, smoke, char, leather, tobacco, wood, herbal, grass, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. Mild herbal, grass, roast, charred bitterness; and chili, ginger, peppercorn spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, molasses, toffee, chili pepper, ginger, peppercorn, roasted nuts, toasted biscuit, dark bread/crust, licorice, dark fruit, smoke, char, leather, tobacco, wood, herbal, grass, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/black/roast/bready malts, chili, ginger, sichuan pepper; and light sea salt, peanut, fruity yeast, earthy hop flavors; with a fantastic roasted bitter/sweet and spiciness balance; with no cloying, acrid, astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering bitter/spiciness. Light-medium carbonation and full body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/velvety/bready, and lightly slick/sticky/chalky mouthfeel that is fantastic. Mild increasing warmth of 11%, and lingering spice heat after the finish. Overall this is a fantastic spiced imperial stout. All around fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/black/roast/bready malts, chili, ginger, sichuan pepper; and light sea salt, peanut, fruity yeast, earthy hop flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to sip on for the big ABV, with the mellowly bitter/spicy/drying finish. Fantastic soft feel for the ABV. Fantastic balance of super rich malts and spices; with mild earthy hops and fruity yeast. Not overly sweet/heavy from lingering dryness. A highly enjoyable offering, and outstanding experimental style example as expected. Not overwhelming on any aspect. Salt used to enhance flavors; not much actual peanut extract flavor other than a generic nutty note from malts.

$4.60 pint can, WW. Pours dark brown to black with a soft brown head. Deep chocolate, cocoa powder, chili powder, salted peanuts in the nose. Flavor is sweet chocolate, chili powder, light metallic notes, salted peanuts. Interesting... feel the burn going down (slightly). Creamy. Hides the booze very well.
