Was a bit skeptical of reviewing this since I'm not entirely sold on Brut IPA's; however since a good friend sent it to me and I wanted to be grateful so here are my thoughts:
Reviewed from notes.
Thanks Steve G.
Can to tulip.
Appearance: hazy orange color with a finger and a quarter of white foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: big Brett and funky to earthy tones; very barnyard-like; light peaches and/or apricots; some green apple
Flavor: blends the prior noted aromas together fairly nice to a funky sweet to earthy fruity peachy sweetness; finishes with the Brett and funky to peachy tones
Texture: light to medium bodied, leaning towards being a sipper; some smoothness along the tongue but also some Brett-like sour stabs to the tongue (just noticeable, nothing overbearing)
Overall: wow, a Brut IPA I don't mind, it might not be a style I need to reach for but this one would be one of the better ones I've had.

Got in a trade with beergoot. 16 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 11/25/2018. Pours very hazy deep golden amber/light orange color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with decent retention, that reduces to a minimal spotty lace cap. Minimal lacing on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation. Good appearance. Aromas of big tart/tangy lemon, lime, mandarin orange juice, red grapefruit, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, guava, blueberry, red/green apple, white grape/wine, citrus peel/zest, peppercorn, pine, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, light leathery/musty/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical/lt earthy hops, fruity/funky/acidic/spicy yeast, and moderate pale/wheat malt notes; with big strength. Taste of big tart/tangy lemon, lime, mandarin orange juice, red grapefruit, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, guava, blueberry, red/green apple, white grape/wine, citrus peel/zest, peppercorn, pine, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, light leathery/musty/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/zest, herbal, floral, woody, grassy bitterness; peppery Brett spiciness, and Lactic tang/tartness on the finish. Lingering notes of tart/tangy lemon, lime, mandarin orange juice, red grapefruit, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, guava, blueberry, red/green apple, white grape/wine, citrus peel/zest, peppercorn, pine, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, light leathery/musty/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/lt earthy hops, fruity/funky/acidic/spicy yeast, and moderate pale/wheat malt flavors; with a great malt, bitter, spicy, tart, tangy balance; with zero puckering/astringent flavors after the finish. Fairly crisp/clean finishing. Moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitter, spicy, tart, tang, and carbonation. Medium-high carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth and moderately bready/grainy/acidic/tangy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol for 5.8%. Overall this is an excellent sour IPA. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/lt earthy hops, fruity/funky/acidic/spicy yeast, and moderate pale/wheat malt flavors; very smooth and fairly crisp/clean/refreshing to drink with the mellowly acidic/tangy/bitter/drying finish. Nicely soft and not overly bitter/lactic. Awesome balance between juicy/vibrant, lightly dank/earthy Mosaic hops, and Brett/bacteria complexity; with a great clean pale/wheat malt backbone against acidity. Zero residual sweetness with crisp drying. A very enjoyable offering, and impressive style example. Not sure why they are advertising this as a Brut IPA; clearly a sour IPA, but I have minimal complaints for it. Really big on Brett character.

Persimmon and meyer lemon nose. Hazy yellow, thick head. Persimmon, biscuit. Tart only on the edges, dry. Light body, soft carbonation. Different.

$4.90 pint can, Wine Warehouse. Pours hazy gold with a small off-white head. Aroma is tropical fruit, melon, citrus peel, floral hops. Flavor is tart citrus, sour orange juice, tropical flowers, bitter green leaf. This one doesn't work for me.

Underwhelming, a muddled attempt at bridging multiple beer styles without representing any well. Mixed fermentation adds a mild citric tang, while the IPA notes are subdued and not particularly dry. Mosaics don't really factor; almost a gose, really, what with the lack of a discernible hop profile and the lingering yeastiness on the fade. Skippable.
