13 oz draft. Aroma is roasted malts and oatmeal. Flavor is very roasty. Mild ash with soft char. Good body and texture. Overall, very roasty. Paired well with my fish and chips, but I don’t think I would order it again.

16oz can from the can.  Nose is huge toast and charred grain and even some big roast oats.  Coffee is there with brown sugar and chicory.  Flavor is malty, sweet and chewy, coffee and chicory and licorice.  Nice.  Balanced.  Some roasty astringency and medium bodied.  Dry.  7 3 8 4 14

On tap at Haandfest. It's close to black in the glass, with a light brown finger-thick head leaving lacing. The aroma has roasted malts, coffee and some dark chocolate, with a good dash of oats. It's full-bodied, smooth and nicely carbonated and surprisingly dryish on the palate. Roasted malts, dark chocolate and lots of delicious coffee in the flavor, with biscuity maltyness in the back. Quite a lot of cocoa too. Lasting finish. A very tasteful and easy drinkable on indeed. 190503

Taster pour at Craft Brew Race, Portland. Appearance is opaque black with nice 1/2-finger width of dark beige/light brown head with fair retention. Aroma is nice roasted malt with chocolate, whiff of coffee. Taste is roasted malts with coffee/chocolate quality but a bit overcooked--burnt. Palate is medium bodied with thick texture, average-to-lively carbonation and more bitter than sweet finish. Overall, some good qualities but the roast is too burnt and overshadows things.
