22 ounce bottle into snifter, bottled in 10/2016. Pours a dense pitch black color with a 1 finger fairly dense and fluffy dark tan head with good retention, that reduces to a thin lace cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, molasses, vanilla, cream, fudge, brownie batter, roasted nuts, toasted biscuit, and dark bread/crust; with lighter notes of licorice, raisin, prune, cherry, fig, date, smoke, charcoal, leather, tobacco, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. Minimal booze in the aromas as it warms. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malts, vanilla, cocoa nibs, and light-moderate earthy hops/fruity yeast notes; with great strength. Taste of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, molasses, vanilla, cream, fudge, brownie batter, roasted nuts, toasted biscuit, and dark bread/crust; with lighter notes of licorice, raisin, prune, cherry, fig, date, smoke, charcoal, leather, tobacco, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. Mild herbal, grassy, peppery hops; and roast/char bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, molasses, vanilla, cream, fudge, brownie batter, roasted nuts, toasted biscuit, dark bread/crust, licorice, dark fruit, smoke, charcoal, leather, tobacco, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malts, vanilla, cocoa nibs, and light-moderate earthy hops/fruity yeast flavors; with a great roast/hop bitter/sweet balance; and no cloying, acrid, astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering hop/char bitterness. Medium carbonation and fairly full body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/velvety/bready, and lightly slick/sticky/chalky mouthfeel that is great. mild increasing warmth of 11% after the finish. Overall this is an awesome flavored pastry stout. All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malts, vanilla, cocoa nibs, and light-moderate earthy hops/fruity yeast flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to drink for the big ABV, with the mildly bitter/charred/drying finish; great soft feel. Awesome balance of super rich malts, vanilla, and cocoa nib flavors; with solid earthy hop presence, and restrained fruity yeast. Not overly sweet/heavy from lingering dryness. A really enjoyable offering, and impressive style example as expected. Aged very well.

Bomber shared by Brian on 12/9/17.
Ruby-burgundy hued dark mahogany. Slightly opaque. No head.
Red wine and....lactose...very odd. Not sure I'd be too quick to put those two together but here you have it. Very fruit-forward, with moderate coffee, lots of fudge, peanut butter and light soy. Milky lactose just seems arbitrary and odd, though I guess this comes off as a cake with some sort of fruit jam in it? Alcohol fairly well-concealed.
In the mouth it has tannin and chalky wine character with black pepper-like character coming from somewhere. Lots of lactose, peanut and mild, fruity coffee. Big layers of fudge and milk chocolate somewhat overwhelm the palate. Quite sweet, bordering cloying. Pretty wacky and ultimately very novel. Low, lightly engaging carbonation, fairly well-concealed alcohol and a syrupy-sweet, soft texture.

22 oz. bottle, thanks to Willrunforbeer. Black appearance, fast dying white head. Aroma is brownie batter, vanilla, and burnt sugar. The flavor is again brownie batter, and bitter chocolate, and old coffee. Too much sugar. Very chewy, yikes!!

Bottle. Pours near black with a dark brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has lots of dark grains and dark chocolate with some roasted malts with some sweetness underlying. Flavor has a good amount of bitter dark chocolate with roasted malts, dark grains and a coffee.
