Can with ogivlado, at Valhalla. Dry dark maltiness in the aroma, with a solid blast of alcohol. Nice caramel-coffee notes in the taste, but the body is just too lean and dry, letting alcohol have a bigger presence than I like in general, too rough. Not ET's greatest beer.

Can at the 1st Fierce Bottle share. It pours darkest brown with a small tan head. The aroma is quite sweet, earthy roast, umami, liquorice, aged malts, umami, cacao, leather, meaty and a touch of milk chocolate. The taste is earthy, meaty, smoke, old malts, toasty, leather, sugary, rocky road, brown sugars, leather, earth and toast with a sweet, sticky finish. Medium body and moderate, foamy carbonation. Alright.

16 ounce can. Pours a pitch black hue with a small beige head. A big chocolate and roast nose. Rich, certainly big lactose, roast, light metal, some sweeter vanilla. Very good. Smooth, a big bite.

Weak nose hampers an otherwise enjoyable stout. Appreciably dry despite the lactose, with a nice mix of unsweetened chocolate, vanilla, roast, coffee, black cherry, and a little bit of black jellybean. Seems, I don't know, more malty than usual--like the husky, tobacco-laced undertone of a Whoppers is circulating around in here somewhere--but damned if I can definitively place any real contribution of 90-day-old malt. A good stout, regardless.
