Canned 11/10/23, drunk 12/23/23. Clear brass-bronze. Small, off-white head quickly to spotty cover. Smells like an IPA from mid 2000's - piney, resinous, hard grapefruit. Throw in a bit of crystal malt and call it a day. Hard grapefruit rind, resinous pine, scratchy, toasty crystal malt. On the plus side, it's well-malted and appropriately attenuated with no alcohol or flaw. Not TOO heavy on the resin or crystal malt. And the excellent maltiness goes a long way to help balance.

Partially hazy, deep golden and copper coloured body with a fairly thick, three centimetre tall tan and creamy, frothy head that stays afloat for a while. Aroma of biscuits, yeast, honey, bread, grass and a slight floral and perfumey aspect that's quite nice. Medium-bodied; Fairly dense malt shows at first with a bit of a biscuity characteristic, but full-of-flavour with some hop bitterness coming through as grassy, perfumey alpha acids with a very small dose of grapefruit zest here, as well, with a note of the bready, yeastie notes at the end. Aftertaste is fairly rich, especially for the style with a slight nutty and earthy quality that's derived from the malts that also adds a nice bitterness from the alpha acids, but it almost seems that there are more flavours derived from the malt than the hops - same with the richness here. Overall, a fairly nice, East Coast IPA that hits nicely with some assertive malts and a big yeastie/bready bite that is seemingly more noticeable than the hops. Nice to sample as my first from the brewery, from the best beer store in Michigan! I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Siciliano's in Grand Rapids, Michigan on 03-August-2021 for US$3,29, sampled at my house here in Washington on 16-December-2021.

Can from Holiday Market. Pours a clear deep gold with a finger of off-white foam that lingers. Honey-ed bread, pine and grapefruit aromas on the nose. More of the same on the palate with a piney, grapefruit punch as it goes down. Nice bitterness that lingers, with a balanced sweet malt backbone. Drying finish with dried honey, pine and fresh hops. --- Beer aliased from original tick of RoarZolute on 03 Mar 2025 at 05:54 - Score: 7.5

16 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 2/21/2019. Pours slightly hazy/cloudy deep golden amber color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky off white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice dense spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big red grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, blueberry, gooseberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, onion, mint, peppercorn, pine, cracker, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and moderate bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big red grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, blueberry, gooseberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, onion, mint, peppercorn, pine, cracker, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of red grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, blueberry, gooseberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, onion, mint, peppercorn, pine, cracker, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and moderate bready malt flavors; with an awesome malt/bitterness balance, and no lingering hop astringency after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready/grainy, sticky/resinous/rindy, and fairly crisp balanced mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 7.7%. Overall this is an awesome IPA. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and moderate bready malt flavors; very smooth, easy, and fairly crisp to drink with the modestly bitter/resinous/drying finish; not overly aggressive. Feels like Columbus, Citra, Mosaic, Simcoe. Extremely vibrant, juicy, dank, and earthy balanced hop complexity; with a great balancing bready malt backbone. Minimal residual sweetness from crisp resin dryness. A really enjoyable offering, and impressive style example.

Can from the brewery. Pours a clear gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has pine upfront with grass, light citrus and grains underlying. Flavor has pine throughout with a bit of grass and light grain backing.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear dark golden with a white head. Hop aromas of sticky pine and grapefruit. Flavor has pine, grapefruit, slight sweetness, and a nice bitterness. Very nice.
