Pours unclear redamber brown. Small white head, medium low stability. Scent is acetic acid, full, oaky. taste is oaky, tannic, dry, acetic, fleshy, bit caramel (not sweet though) . Mild red fruits. OK, expected a bit more for it's price though.

Bottle from Rotsaert, Zedelgem. Deep red/bordeau colour, almost no foam. Soft carbonation. Tart, lots of red fruit (blackberries, unripe plums,...) Taste is tart, vinous and fruity. Alcohol is very well hidden. Great beer!

500ml bottle. Intensely sour, dry and heavy with berry juice notes, some funky yeastiness, oak, vinous notes and wood. Quite intense.

Multi-fruited Alvinne sour, one of only 700 bottles, big thanks to Luís for sharing this gem. Egg-white, initially medium thick, lacing but unstable and dissolving head over a hazy coppery reddish bronze beer. Breathes the luscious fruit sour aroma I was hoping for: lots of blue plum, sloe berries, lots of brambleberries, white grapes, redcurrant, ripe Japanese wine berries, soaking wet vanilla-ish oak wood, dusty old wood soaked in beer – the alluring smell you get when you actually walk into the brewery in Moen, lemon rind, sweet rosé wine, red wine vinegar, almond, peach, dry sherry, red apple peel. Complex, fruit acidic onset with some residual fructose softness hidden within, bringing perfect balance; sloe is very obvious (sour plum) and so are the blackberries, other notes hint at gooseberries and redcurrant, sour red raspberries, all closely tied together by the lactic sourness of the beer but accentuating it with a sharper fruit sourness, a bit lemony even; medium carb, softish bready and caramelly base buried under the overall tartness but still providing a firm main structure. Very long finish, dry, tannic from wood and fruit skins and seeds, pleasantly vinous with a warming, soothing calvados-tinged alcohol effect in the tail; the wine barrel treatment adds further dryness, complexity and juiciness, but the whole does end bone dry and a bit astringent. A ‘pièce de résistance’, clearly, complex and complicated alike, but brought into perfect balance – this is among the most impressive Alvinne fruit sours I had to date, and I had quite a few before that highly impressed me. Masterpiece, maintaining high drinkability for its ABV – but I would not personally consider this a ‘quadrupel’ as was apparently the original intention…

06/07/2018 @home - 50cl bottle from Bierhalle Deconinck, Vichte. Dark red purple, no head. Nose is sour, lots of fruits. Taste is very fruity, red wine, Morpheus aspects, mild sourness (so it seemed to me, maybe because I expected it to be much more sour). Very close to red wine. Love it.

Bottle. Hazy purple color with soapy white head. Aroma is plastic, barrel, leathery, berry skins, red wine. Taste is cherries, plastic, extremely vineous. Oily mouthfeel, flat. Decent, but a bit too plasticy.
