16 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 11/7/2018. Pours slightly hazy deep golden/amber color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky off white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Thick soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big red grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, watermelon, blueberry, gooseberry, guava, citrus peel/rind, wood, mint, light peppercorn, pine, honey, toasted biscuit, light caramel, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of huge red grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, watermelon, blueberry, gooseberry, guava, citrus peel/rind, wood, mint, light peppercorn, pine, honey, toasted biscuit, light caramel, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of red grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, watermelon, blueberry, gooseberry, guava, citrus peel/rind, wood, mint, peppercorn, pine, honey, toasted biscuit, light caramel, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt flavors; with an awesome malt/bitterness balance, and no astringent hop flavors after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready/grainy/sticky, and fairly resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 8%. Overall this is a fantastic DIPA. All around fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink for the ABV with the modestly bitter/resinous/drying finish, not overly aggressive. Amazing Citra, Columbus, El Dorado, Mosaic profile. Extremely juicy and fairly dank/earthy hop complexity; with a great bready malt backbone. Mild residual sweetness with lingering resin dryness. A highly enjoyable offering, and outstanding west coast style example. Loved the hop profile as expected.

Can pour from The City, Seabrook. Appearance is hazy, light brown/dark yellow with nice sparkle, finger-width beige foamy head with fair retention and minor leggy lacing. Aroma is sweet lemony citrus, pineapple, strong caramel malts. Taste is pineapple, caramel malt with some herb, pine, fruit, citrus. Palate is medium-to-full bodied with thick texture, lively carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, a big beer with strong hops and malts that are balanced pretty well with lively carbonation to counter some of the heaviness. Fairly old school but good.

From a 16 oz. can purchase somewhere in Maine 6 weeks ago. Canning date on the bottom is 9/16/16, so pushing 4 months old. Pours a clear hazy gold with a thick off white head. Feint hop aroma. Flavors of grass and pine with some caramel. Very smooth, and pretty tasty despite the hops being largely absent. I hope to have a chance of tasting a fresh one of these.

Draught at Lulu’s, 3/28/15
Nearly as red as the label, and a bit deeper with garnet and magenta hues and a small, beige head that shows moderate retention. Clarity is high, with just a touch of haze to it.
Very fruity in the nose; not just citrus but cherries, berries and apples even. Quite complex and though there is some thought of pine, it’s much more citrus-influenced than it is heavily acidic and resinous. Crystal malts, to my dismay, are here adding that "hard" iced tea-like note, with vanilla and light caramel sweetness certainly balancing things. Floral, green and even mint-like aromas emerge with warming. Lots of hop complexity, which is appreciated with little/no alcohol or flaws in the nose.
Both sweet and only moderately bitter in flavor, it almost comes off as more of a Double Pale ale. Crystal malts add that hard candy-like texture, though caramel sugars help soften things and a low but mostly tight carbonation concentrates the wonderfully fruity hoppiness. Toasted malt, strawberry and grapefruit all swirl about on the end, easing some of the sweetness, but it’s still probably a bit too malt forward. I do like the lack of resin here, but the malt bill needs a bit of work and it could use a bit more good old bitterness.
