330ml brown bottle from the LCBO. I do not see a nitro ball in the bottle, so no explosions. Pours dark brown colour with copper-ruby highlights, a small mocha-coloured head that seems to stay on top, looking like a Nespresso. Lots of dark fruits in the aroma, but mostly raisins take over. Hints of wheat with banana notes. The mouthfeel is definitely smooth, silky with some dryness in the finish. Dark fruits, roasted malts and hops for flavours. This Quad does goes down very nicely. Dangerous !

Very dark brown with creamy head. It's a decent malty quad. Nitro concept is interesting but the beer lacks some depth and complexity.

I have found nitro beers generally pretty smooth and creamy. Time to see if it works for a quadrupel. I believe this brew came back from a Total Wine in Ft. Worth. I' m using a snifter on this one, a mostly black liquid with a light covering of very finely-bubbled foam. the scent is interesting, sort of stoutish, chocolate, berry and somewhat vinous. The taste then, still has that wine effect, milk chocolate, fresh fruit. No indication of the the 11.5% abv. Not exactly my deal but the effort is always appreciated when it comes to a new quad.

I did not expect to see this in Maxima and I had only seen Petrus in dedicated alco stores, still nice. It means that some of these beers come to get more mainstream, what may be good or maybe bad, depends how good this one is. Smell- weak. yeast, roast, caramel. Foam- thin, caramel, alco, balsam. Head is tiny to nonexistent, kind of creamy, brown white color, maybe gray-ish. Like coffee-milk something. Appearance- unique brewer bottle cap, very dark red, brown, but basically black. Taste- feels thicker than when taking foam, alcohol, malt, yeast. Generally very neutral. surprising, some faint Belgian yeast notes I like, but generally just more alcohol, some sweet and roast. Definitely can feel the warmth from the alcohol, but this is just so neutral that there is nothing really bad or great to tell, it is perfectly drinkable and actually might be a fine choice for the mainstream. Would I try this again? I see why not, is this something out of the box - probably no.

Les promesses marketing sont quelquefois navrantes. Nitro Quad ! Petrus nous vend ici une innovation avec remplacement du CO2 par du nitrogène lors du brassage. Le résultat ? Une quad qui manque de punch, de caractère et avec une intensité et une corpulence limitée. Rendez-nous notre CO2 ! Petrus pensait-il que nous n'allions pas nous rendre compte de cette supercherie ? Les professionnels du marketing nous prennent trop souvent pour des moutons. J'ai tout de même eu quelques espoirs au nez qui met en bouche avec un alcool sur les devants comme il le faut et des arômes riches et complexes sur le raisin, la prune, la banane, la figue, le chocolat et une pointe de café. Le visuel pour sa part est honnête avec un brun foncé surmonté d'une très fine couche de mousse. A la dégustation, la déception est grande. Les arômes présents au nez sont bien là, mais aseptisés. On a davantage l'impression d'avoir de l'eau infusé. Ça n'accroche pas le palais. L'alcool à 11,5% est complètement inefficace. A noter également qu’il n'y a quasiment pas d'effervescence, très certainement une conséquence de l'utilisation du Nitrogène et que je trouve dommageable. A l'attaque, les arômes sont donc plats, le chocolat et le café disparaissent quasi entièrement. Une pointe de poivre arrive cependant. En seconde bouche, c'est une petite pointe herbacée accompagnée d'un petit côté plastique qui apparaît. Aucun punch...cela en est désespérant. L’arrière-bouche est insipide dans un premier temps avant de revenir quelque peu sur les arômes présents à l'attaque. Le final s'écrase rapidement nous laissant à nos désillusions. Que Petrus retire le nitrogène et utilise du CO2 pour nous faire une bonne quad !

Pachnieno dziwo kawa z ekspresu przelewowego :) ale tez owocami, suszem. Malo ciala mimo nitro acz chlalny. Przyprawowy. Troche larmelowy. Bardzo ladnie schowane alko. Tyle, ze nienjest jakos mocno smaczny for mi.

Egészen sötét barna, gyakorlatilag fekete, habja tartós, de csak fátyolszerű. Gabonás, csokis, aszalt gyümölcsös illat. Kissé fanyar, édeskés, csokis, aszalt gyümölcsös ízek, vakos gabonás-kenyerességgel és egy pici karamellel. A nitrogén miatt pedig határozottan van egy kis Guinness-es utánérzés és ugyanaz a lágy krémesség jellemzi, nincs semmi szúrós savasság, mégis meg van a buborékosság érzete. Testes, közepesen keserű. Finom, intenzív ízvilágú sör.

Bottle at home. Dark brown color, full sized beige to mocha head. Creamy a bit as well and good lacing. Smell and taste malts, raisins, a bit sweet, dark ripe fruitiness. Medium body and decent carbonation. Quite good imo. 7-4-7-3-15.
