(Bottle) Dark brown colour, almost black, with hints of ruby when seen through light. Frothy beige head. Malty, roasted, vinous nose with caramel, dried fruit, figs, dates, raisins, honey, treacle, chocolate, wood and herbs (mint). Malty taste with notes of caramel, chocolate, dried fruit, dates, figs, raisins, wood, a touch of bourbon, vanilla and a mild herbal bitterness in a warming finish. Full body, sweet. Strong and powerful, still in excellent balance. Harmonious, warming and deceptively drinkable. Great beer.

Very dark brown pour with a small tan head. The aroma is of malt, dark fruit, and alcohol. It has a sweet, malty taste with dark fruit, some booze, spicy yeast, and fairly subtle oak notes. Really good.

Bottle 65 cl. Pours an opaque black with a lacing beige head. Oaky nose atop some very sweet black malts. Rich and incredibly sweet, black malts - no real roastiness, more to the chocolatey side - with a praline filling! Some soft tannins showing. Very subtle bitterness. Not bad at all, but you have to be a hardcore sweet tooth to digest the massive sugars. 271220

Flaska från SB, från 2018. Mörk brunsvart med khakifärgad krona. Läder, lätt rökiga toner, mycket fat, russin, mörk choklad, torv, lakrisal, enbärsris. Stor, fyllig, bra sötma kvar, viss hetta och lite riv, men också mjuknat något. Mycket gott!

Sampled from a bottle this beer poured a black color with a large fluffy brown head that lingered and left good lacing. The aroma was malty with dough, whiskey and dark fruit. The flavor was bitter with strong dark fruit, whiskey, rum, dough, anise, molasses and soy sauce. Long boozy and dark fruit finish. Full bodied.

Solid powerful beer this one. Absolutely recommendable Made us In The Mood, so we ramble on Raven black in the glass and a solid beige head. Nice lacing Looks nice Pleasant and fine intensity in the aroma. Quite smooth and fine carbonation level Dangerously easy to drink. Also a quite well masked alcohol level Balanced decent sweetness. Chocolate, mild coffee, dark malt, and dried fruits in a fine combo [Bottle from Espen. Shared with Øystein and Robert Plant]

Mycket gott.

650ml bottle with a red neck kindly shared by Finn. Stable beige head to a jet black body. Spotty lacing on the glass. Appealing aromas of toffee and dried fruits. Dark bread, chocolate, raisin and figs to a powerful taste profile, backbone of syrup. Oaky. Long-lived and warming dried fruity ending. Full bodied. Excellent, sweet slow sipper. (Rating session with Finn, TheCellarer and Snegurochka, at Finn's place in Tromsø 09.03.2019).
