Sampled from the tap at the brewpub. Pours a very dark brown with a hint of copper and a brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma Has sweet peanut butter and sweet dark grains with a hint of bread backing. Flavor is peanut butter forward with a bit of sweet dark grains and cookie supporting.

On tap at HopCat Livonia. Pours a deep brown with an off-white head. Peanut, roasty malt, caramel, cocoa in the aroma. Flavor has peanut, roasty malt, cocoa, caramel, with a medium-light body. This tasted pretty much as I expected from the name.

Deep dark brown coloured body with a nice, but fairly small thin, single centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of very nice peanuts, earth, grain, toasted malts, caramel and bunches of molasses notes - but the vision of literally popping open a bag of crack jack is evident here - this smells great! Light to Medium-bodied; Very nice toasted grain and pretty rich malt notes dominate here with a lot of earthiness and some rustic mushroomy qualities, but the molasses, deep caramelised sugars and especially the peanuts are very strong in the flavour that coupled pretty well with the robust malts, a lot of lactose and some cream here too - very nice in the nose and quite strong. Aftertaste is very robust, very malty but showing a lot of the peanuts and rustic notes along with the vanilla and creaminess - this is very nice, quite sweet but packed with flavours that is unmistakable in terms of peanuts and caramel. Overall, this somehow is much better than what I was expecting and the peanuts, caramelised sugars and especially the roasted/toasted malt notes work very nicely here with a great profile but even better complexity, all while being easy-drinking somehow. This one is great and highly recommended if you can find it! I sampled this twelve ounce can, purchased from Siciliano's Market in Grand Rapids, Michigan on 03-August-2021 for US$2,99 sampled at my house here in Washington on 16-January-2023.

Sample at the GR location. Brown-black pour with a medium thick beige head that recedes steadily to a film. Small patches of lace. Roast malt, peanut and chocolate aroma. Light-bodied with flavors of chocolate malt, roasted peanut and a bit of coffee. The finish is roasty with a peanut and malt aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Can from Holiday Market. Pours a deep brown with a viscous looking body and a finger of beige head that dissipates. Big, chunky peanut butter focused nose with some dried caramel notes underneath. Smooth on the palate but feels full-bodied with more peanut butter, light roasted coffee and toasted caramel towards the finish. Lingering peanut butter and faint coffee on the finish. This is really good.

16 ounce prowler in the tulip glass, filled on 5/19/2018. Pours nearly opaque dark brown/black color with a 2 finger dense and rocky light khaki head with awesome retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Thick soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of huge peanut butter, milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, caramel, coffee, brown sugar, toffee, toasted biscuit, dark/brown bread, light smoke/herbal, and roast/toasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malt and peanut butter notes; with big strength. Taste of huge peanut butter, milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, caramel, coffee, brown sugar, toffee, toasted biscuit, dark/brown bread, light smoke/herbal, and roast/toasted earthiness. Light herbal/roast bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of peanut butter, milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, caramel, coffee, brown sugar, toffee, toasted biscuit, dark/brown bread, light smoke/herbal, and roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt and peanut butter flavors; with a nice roasted bitter/sweet balance; and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Slightly increasing dryness from lingering hop/roast bitterness. Light-medium carbonation and medium-plus body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/velvety, and slightly sticky/chalky mouthfeel that is amazing. Zero warming alcohol for 5.9%. Overall this is an amazing peanut butter porter! All around incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt and peanut butter flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the very mildly bitter finish. Extremely rich and well rounded malt complexity, with big authentic peanut butter presence. A highly amazing offering. One of the best peanut butter beers I have ever had!

Enjoyed on tap at the Meanwhile in Grand Rapids, MI to start off an east coast road trip. I actually am not sure if this is the one I had, but it’s close so I’ll add it anyway. Huge hazelnut notes and was dry, I didn’t mean to but I had multiple of these since it was so damn good. Would have again.

Draft at the brewpub, Grand Rapids. Deep ruddy brown body, thin tan head. Roasty nose with dry chocolate, peanut, and caramel. Lots of acidity in the body ashy salty peanuts, toast, caramel, and brown sugar. Rather thin but interesting.
