Keg at Bazil's, 1.17.21. Nitro. Dark brown large creamy tan head good retention. Aroma of chocolate and peanut butter. Taste is chocolate, peanut butter, cherry. Medium bodied. Not artificial. Pretty good.

12 oz bottle. Soda-like head dissipating extremely quickly, leaving a murky deep cola-like brown beverage, but with lots of small oily-looking specks in it. Aroma is peanut butter and chocolate as expected. Flavor, the peanut butter and chocolate are there again, some cocoa bitterness. There's just something a little off with it, though, it doesn't all mesh. It's okay, though.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 11/8/2017. Pours very hazy opaque dark brown/black color with a 1-2 finger foamy and fluffy khaki head with decent retention, that reduces to nothing eventually. Minimal lacing on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Good appearance. Aromas of big peanut butter, milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, fudge, caramel, brown sugar, and toasted dark/brown bread; with lighter notes of coffee, vanilla, smoke, herbal, and roast/toasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of peanut butter, chocolate, and dark/roast/bready malt notes; with big strength. Taste of huge peanut butter, milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, fudge, caramel, brown sugar, and toasted dark/brown bread; with lighter notes of coffee, vanilla, smoke, herbal, and roast/toasted earthiness. Mild herbal hop and roast/char bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of peanut butter, milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, fudge, caramel, brown sugar, toasted dark/brown bread, light coffee/smoke, herbal, and roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of peanut butter, chocolate, and dark/roast/bready malt flavors; with a great roasted bitter/sweet balance, and zero cloying/acrid flavors after the finish. Slightly increasing dryness from hop/roast bitterness. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready, and lightly silky/slick/sticky/chalky mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 7%. Overall this is an outstanding flavored American stout! All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of peanut butter, chocolate, and dark/roast/bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the mildly bitter/drying finish. Impressively rich for 7%; with tons of real PB and Chocolate flavors, on top of a nice well rounded American stout malt bill. A highly enjoyable offering.

Sample at Odd Side. Pours dark brown, kinda thin. Little head. Aromas are straight phenol or nail polish with a little roasted malt. Flavor is duties under a layer of hot alcohol. There is some peanut and chocolate, but something went wrong with the fermentation on this one... I hope.

Sampled at GABF. Pours an oily black with some spitty head. Nose is straight Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup, chocolate, peanut butter, honey, caramel. Tastes like peanut butter and chocolate, malt. Chalky and oily finish. Smells silly but the finish is a bit of a let down.

On tap at Crunchy’s, East Lansing. Opaque deep brown body, thin discontinuous tan head. Roasted malt nose with peanut butter, thin and acidic. Thin, woody, acidic body that is rounded by sweet, meaty peanut butter. Strangely quaffable- I guzzled nearly half a mug in minutes without any resistance. Tasty.

On tap at the brewpub. Poured black with a dark brown head that dissipated slowly to the edges. Aroma was full of dark grains with some bitter dark chocolate and a bit of underlying peanut butter. Flavor was mainly slightly bitter dark chocolate with a growing peanut butter note which tasted just like a delicious peanut butter cup!
