Typical of Crowdsurf in a Rubber Dinghy is its fresh character with soft spiciness and light acidity due to the yeast aromas. It is a summer beer that quenches you without being blown away by overwhelming aromas. Because in our opinion, that is how a saison should be: dry, sparkling and refreshing, ideal for a summer festival!

The second one in this series (already - this Bucketlist programme seems to go hard), sampled at Gents Bierfestival. Egg-white, moussy, lacing, medium thick head, misty yellow-straw blonde robe. Aroma of green apple, soap, unripe pear, raw white cabbage but a whiff of DSM as well, apricot, plastic. Fruity onset, pear and green banana, medium carbonated, soapy, cereally middle with a plastic-like note to it, cereally, some grassy hop bitterness in the finish, lightly lingering. More a standard Belgian blonde than a true saison even in the classic Belgian sense of the word, considering previous beers from these guys I must admit I expected better. Too bad the special editions of Troubadour Magma have been discontinued in favor of this Bucketlist series, which so far has failed to truly impress.

330 ml. bottle @ Spéciale Belge Taproom. BBF 06/JUN/2020. Golden citrus industrial with white head. Nose is BE clean, pepper, esters, soap & Duvel-esque. Taste & feel is equally Duvel-eque like a lower ABV version with soap, lemon, white pepper, fully dry & lively, crisp BE esters, interesting in the way that I like Duvel, maybe bit too slick but nice for sure.

Blond colour with light haze. Aroma and flavour have typical saison yeast, slightly spicy, slightly soapy. This is pleasantly bitter compared to other Saison beers.

Pours a tad unclear yellow. Medium small, rather stable white head. Good lacing. Smell is fresh, crisp, malty, grainy, bit phenolic, as a saison should be. Bit citrussy. Taste is sharp, very citrussy. Mild phenolic. Very refreshing. Ends clean, bit dry, very nice, yet tad attypical saison.

1/VIII/18 - 33cl bottle from Geers (Oostakker), shared @ the beach - BB: n/a (2018-944)
Clear blond yellow beer, big creamy white head, stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: spicy, coriander, yeast, cloves, bit floral, slightly fruity. MF: lively carbon, medium body. Taste: pretty sweet, lots of ripe banana, floral, soft spicy touch, yeast. Aftertaste: more yeast, quite a lot of banana, rather sweet, banana peel, slightly herbal. Nothing bitter about this one, quite sweetish impression, how does this make it a saison?

Huge, very dense & fine, just yellowish head, leaving lace over clear pale yellowish golden beer. Spicy, herbal, yeasty; hints at garden herbs, green leaves, ginger, white pepper. Sharp-ish, spicy & herbal flavour, very dry flavour & MF (beer is very highly attenuated for a fact), nearly fully devoid of restsugars. Hints at bananapeel, just a touch of citrussy sourishness. (Ultra-) dry, medium to good carbonation, mild slickness. Convincing, the high ABV explained by the near-total attenuation. Excellent summer ale; Txs to Kristof!
