OK, can't wait to try this bottle - NOT. !!! I hate IPA. I'm a hater. I expect viscous rude mouth coating brewed beer. Turns out it is viscous rude mouth coating brewed beer, yet even so more, in yer face; simply wants to kick you upside the palate with a heel kick knee jerk reaction. . It's darker than most IPa in the retina. But I must say in general; the border between double imperial and the various bullshit IPA is fading, they both do the same thing. Maybe we should have another category; light IPA. That style won't be as rude as the veggie session? Go figger; mister eye pee aye. I've tasted plain old IPA that were so much more offensive than this run of the mill. Most IPA are now IPA light as of this printing.

I hate Mosaic hops so that impacts this rating. +++ Sampled on draft at the brewpub this beer poured a reddish-caramel color with a large foamy tan head that lingered and left excellent lacing. The aroma was bitter and tart with cactus, catbox and pine notes. The flavor was tangy and sweet with catbox, cactus, lemon and pine. Long finish. Full bodied. Not my style.

Growler from the brewpub, 3/22/16. Clear dark amber, large frothy tan head. Good retention. Aroma of melon, herbal hops and caramel malt. The taste is tropical fruit, pine, melon, caramel malt. Medium bodied, lingering bitterness. Decent balance.

Bottle, undated, from JSquire, drunk 7/17/16.
Clear, deep bronze-copper-golden beer shows a high clarity and medium-sized white head atop with moderate retention.
Heavily fruity, moderately juicy nose has plentiful ruby red grapefruit that mixes with the liberal base malts to give a very citrus juice experience. Nothing wrong with that...Some pine creeps in, but it’s not obnoxious or overdone. Light cherry lingering as well as very light heat. Malts definitely keep the big citrus and pine notes in check without themselves being too overbearing, so that’s pretty impressive.
Nicely sweet, juicy and malty, without being sugary or cloying. Soft, malty texture, with medium amounts of mostly engaging carbonation. Cherries, grapefruits, wintergreen and light pine with some lightly sharp bitter notes on the finish. Quite nice all around and definitely well-made stuff. Finds a very unique line between West Coast and New England.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, no bottle dating. Pours slightly hazy deep orange/copper color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of big grapefruit, pineapple, peach, apricot, passion fruit, mango, melon, strawberry, lemon zest, orange peel, light pine, honey, light caramel, toasted bread, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Fantastic aromas with awesome complexity and balance of juicy citrus/tropical hops and moderate bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big grapefruit, pineapple, peach, apricot, passion fruit, mango, melon, strawberry, lemon zest, orange peel, light pine, honey, light caramel, toasted bread, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light-medium pine/grassy/spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, pineapple, peach, apricot, passion fruit, mango, melon, strawberry, lemon/orange peel, pine, honey, toasted bread, and herbal/floral/grassy hop earthiness on the finish for a while. Incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of juicy citrus/tropical hops and moderate bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero astringent hop flavors after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from bitterness, that increases through the glass. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a very smooth, moderately sticky/resinous, and fairly creamy/bready balanced mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a light warmth lingering after the finish. Overall this is a fantastic DIPA. All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of juicy citrus/tropical hops and moderate bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink for the ABV. A highly enjoyable offering.

Tap. Pours clear reddish amber, small of white head, decent lacing. Aroma is dank, grapefruit, sweaty, a bit nasty (in a good way). Flavor is light sweet, light plus bitter, dank, sweaty, yummy. Medium body, a bit light actually. Low carbonation, not harsh. This is god elixir right here.

Sample at the Big Tap In on 05/31/2014. Clear amber-orange color with a medium off-white head that diminishes steadily. Strings of lacing. Aroma of hops, citrus and malt. Medium to full body with flavors of dank hops, pine and toasted malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a resiny hops and citrus aftertaste. Pretty good all around.
