Can, at the March 2025 DCBeer share. Poured a slightly hazy, but mostly clear amber color, small off-white head. Aroma was toasted caramel, light herbal hops. Falvor was light earthy character, light bitterness. Sweet malts.

Aroma is peppery, caramel, bready. Taste is moderately sweet with a firmly bitter hop backbone. Toasty, caramel-tinged flavors.

Pours amber and smells of toasted caramel malt. The well balanced flavor is of toasted caramel and mild hops bitterness. Easy drinking and quaffable.

12oz can. A rather unique beer. The honey sweetens and smooths it out a lot. Rather full bodied and enjoyable for the moderate ABV. Not really so true to style, but a nice Honey Red Ale.

12 oz can from Total Wine - Daytona Beach, FL. Pours a crystal clear amber color with a small khaki head and decent retention. No lacing. Very faint caramel malt aroma. All caramel malt flavor to match the nose. This could easily be a Vienna lager. Sweet, smooth and clean. Low carbonation. Light body. Short finish. Not bitter. Simple profile and very repeatable.

bottle. looks like lighter iced tea. i don't think it really qualifies as a red ale. malty smell. taste is quite malty, of course. good co2, but not quite a sizzle. decent, but not great. a little chalky in the middle. not much sweetness. finish is a bit difficult. a typical domestic attempt at an irish ale.

Little supplied for review. The beer pours reddish-brown, under a thin and very brief head. The smell does have a roast to it, and even a bit of the peat that I often get from a Scottish ale. I get a taste that’s also slightly earthy, but also toasty and somehow crisp. The honey does add an edge of sweetness and makes this feel heartier than its 5.4% abv might suggest. It also leave a bit of stickiness on the lips.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled on 1/19/2016. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy reddish copper color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of caramel, brown sugar, toffee, toasted biscuit, nuttiness, light roast, light plum/apple, herbal, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/bready malt and light earthy hop/fruity yeast notes; with good strength. Taste of caramel, brown sugar, toffee, toasted biscuit, nuttiness, light roast, light plum/apple, herbal, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Light-moderate herbal/spicy hop bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, brown sugar, toffee, toasted biscuit, nuttiness, herbal, and yeast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/bready malt and light earthy hop/fruity yeast flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Moderate dryness from hop bitterness and roast malt as well. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, crisp, and fairly grainy/creamy mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very nice Irish red ale. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/bready malt and light earthy hop/fruity yeast flavors; and very smooth, crisp, and clean to drink. There is a slight hint of diacetyl as well; but it is very hard to notice, and not out of line for the style. A very enjoyable offering.
