22oz bomber pours with a crystal clear gold body that has thin copper hues and supports a thin off white head. The modest aroma offers up pineapple, resiny notes like pine hops and then some thin floral hoppiness. The taste is bold and firm with largely resiny bitter hops that seem to be a blend of pineapple, pine hops and candied lime peel as well as a bit of juicy citrus. Yep. There’s some juiciness floating around amid a sea of hop bitterness. The label states 100 IBU’s and this beer delivers all hundred. It’s growing on me the more I drink and as it warms a pleasing earthy tea sensation makes itself heard.

22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 2/3/2015. Pours slightly hazy bright golden orange color with a 2 finger dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of big grapefruit, tangerine, peach, pineapple, mango, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, floral, grass, honey, light caramel, and floral/grassy earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of juicy citrus/tropical hops and moderate malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, peach, pineapple, mango, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, floral, grass, honey, light caramel, and floral/grassy earthiness. Good amount of pine/citrus rind bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, peach, pineapple, mango, lemon/orange zest, pine, honey, light caramel, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Damn nice complexity and robustness of juicy citrus/tropical hops and moderate malt sweetness; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a very smooth, fairly crisp/sticky, and lightly creamy mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is an excellent DIPA style. All around great complexity, balance, and robustness of juicy citrus/tropical hops and moderate malt sweetness; and very smooth to drink for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering.

2 oz. sample at the brewery. Marketed as Big Hundo at the brewery. Hazy yellow with thick white head in the sample glass. Aroma is grapefruit, tan grin and some grass.
Flavor is just has it smells with the fruit upfront with some malt in the base. Pine cone and grassy finish that lingers after the sip. It’s bitter but not harsh and really drinkable. Not going to be the best DIPA around but it is worth a try.

pale yellow nose is weak with a grassy light kiwii nose. Taste is very bitter, but not overly done. Piney needle and an undercoating of dankness.
