Interesting twist on pumpkin beer, but ultimately a pumpkin beer just the same. Mild farmhouse yeast notes are present, as is a grassy middle and hints of flowers on the back end, but the profile is mainly nutmeg, cinnamon, and allspice, as the style dictat, I guess. Eh. It’s pumpkin beer.

16 oz can from Tavour. Aroma is pumpkin spices, lacto, bread. Pours hazy orange with a small off white head. Taste is moderately sour (6/10). Not too shabby.

Hazy amber color. Modest sour nose with tons of pumpkin spice. Modestly sour, light body, tons of cinammon, pumpkin but not sure if that works. Odd, ok, but doesn’t work too much

Thanks Gregg for sharing the can! Poured into a taster showing well filtered amber brown with sparse white foam. The nose shows pronounced notes of baking spices and light pumpkin. The palate is light bodied and well carbonated. Lightly tart with light flavours of pumpkin and baking spice.

Nice hazy bronze and light brown coloured body with a thick, two to three centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of pure squash, spices, grain, light alcohol, a touch of tart funky yeasts and more brett and soured earth notes all around, but ends very nicely. Light to Medium-bodied; Assertive spice flavour at first with a nice allspice and coriander seed flavour showng a ton of nutmeg and canella as well, all with a big malt backbone and the funkiness of the brett and soured elements. Aftertaste shows more of the spices and grain than anything else , with a large bunch of soured and funky notes as well that show some nice complexities with a good sweet finish of apples and pears with a bit more of the caramelised sugars. Overall, a very nice and interesting beer that is full of flavour and some nice complexities throughout, all with a solid profile. I sampled this sixteen ounce can purchased from Merchant's in Dearborn, Michigan on 10-July-2015 for US$3,79 sampled at home in Washington on 13-October-2017.

Purchased at Bottles and Cans in Chicago, IL; enjoyed at home after a filling Thanksgiving work potluck before going to a restaurant. Appearance is a dark ruby orange with a very thin white rim. Aroma of pumpkin, Belgian ale yeast, tart, clove, orange peel. Taste is kind of strange, the name says it all - pumpkin flavor with a tart finish. Not one that I’ll probably have again.

Sample at the 2014 Infected Chimipalooza on 11/01/2014. Hazy orange-amber color with a medium foamy white head that recedes steadily. Short strings of lacing. Aroma of pumpkin spices and malt. Medium body with flavors of malt, ginger and fruit. The finish is malty with a tart fruit aftertaste. Disjointed and slightly above average overall.

16 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 9/30/2014. Pours slightly hazy reddish orange color with a 2 finger fairly dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big pumpkin, golden raisin, pear, apple, light banana, clove, pepper, cinnamon, nutmeg, gingerbread, toast, brown sugar, herbal, floral, and yeast earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/earthy yeast, bready malt, and spice flavors; with good strength. Taste of big pumpkin, golden raisin, pear, apple, light banana, clove, pepper, cinnamon, nutmeg, gingerbread, toast, brown sugar, herbal, floral, and yeast earthiness. Fair amount of fruity/earthy tartness and yeast spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of pumpkin, raisin, pear, apple, light banana, clove, pepper, cinnamon, nutmeg, gingerbread, toast, and herbal/yeast earthiness on the finish for a while. Damn nice complexity and robustness of fruity/earthy yeast, bready malt, and spice flavors; with a great malt/yeast/spice balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a smooth, moderately creamy/bready, and fairly crisp mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with only a slight warming present after the finish. Overall this is a damn nice Belgian style pumpkin ale. All around great complexity, balance, and robustness of fruity/earthy yeast, bready malt, and spice flavors; and very smooth to drink for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering.
