Alien Einstein is a gluten reduced India Pale Lager with an inviting aroma of tangy grapefruit. A bright burst of fruity and earthy hop flavors is followed by an increased resiny bitterness, exemplifying the well rounded versatility of the American Mosaic used in this single hopped beer. * This beer is crafted to reduce gluten. After fermentation a special gluten consuming enzyme is added to drastically reduce the overall gluten content of the beer.

Poured from a bottle dated 05/19/2015. Aroma is fairly hop forward with some nice citrus notes including grapefruit and orange. Light tropical and stone fruit with medium light resin. Some light cracker malt notes. Pours a hazy, golden orange with a medium sized, moderately thick, white head that slowly recedes to the edges. Medium lacing and smallish legs. Flavor is slightly sweet with a light grainy, cracker note. Medium bitterness with moderately strong hop flavors. Hops are mostly grapefruit and orange with some lighter pine and resin. Even lighter stone fruit is also present. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a pretty nice beer with a good hop character. Easy drinking and fairly crisp, this comes across slightly larger than a session IPA but just as easy to drink lots of. As it warms the hop character, especially the aroma, become more dank.

12 ounce bottle into lager glass, bottled on 4/3/2014. Pours slightly hazy bright gold color with a 1 finger dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big grapefruit, tangerine, peach, mango, lemon zest, orange rind, floral, grass, pine, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Very nice aromas with good complexity of bright citrus/tropical hops and light-moderate pale malt notes; with good strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, peach, mango, lemon zest, orange rind, pine, floral, grass, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Good amount of pine/grassy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, mango, peach, lemon zest, orange rind, pine, floral, grass, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice complexity of bright citrus/tropical hops and light-moderate pale malt flavors; with a crisp malt/bitterness balance and a some slight cloying bitterness after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, crisp, and sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very nice India pale lager style. All around good complexity of bright citrus/tropical hops and moderate pale malt sweetness; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

Draft at the brewpub, Bellaire. Hazy, dirty orange-brown body, medium clumping off-white head. Catty nose with tropical fruit. Aromatic, slightly bitter body with passion fruit and a lingering bitter finish.
