Bottled. Pours a foamy gold. A pilsner with very noticeable hops, furit and malt. Not bad, not amazing.

Clear golden pour, small white head. Sweet bready malt aroma, some light alcohol, grains and grassy hops. Medium mouthfeel, soft carb. Light corny finish, with some alcohol warming and some sweet caramel, bready malts.

2 oz. sample at the brewery. Light hazy gold color. Aroma is Saaz and a grassiness. Light dough.

Flavor is ok. Wheat base with a nice lingering bitterness from the herbal/ grassy hop with notes of hay. Medium body with proper carbonation. Solid amount of bitterness that lingers well after the sip. Pretty decent.

Tap at Eddies. Filtered looking orange-tan body below a steady creamy white head. Nice crisp hop aroma, but a little fruitier taste than I would want for the style. Noble hops carry it. Nice fruity depth. Above average for a Magic Hat. Really grows on you the more you sip on it.

750 ml bottle into pilsener glass, bottled in Spring 2012. Pours very hazy golden amber color with a nice 2 finger dense off white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass. Aromas of lemon, pear, biscuit, nuttiness, orange zest, herbal, floral, light pepper, grass, and earthy spiciness. Some nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and decent strength. Taste of lemon, pear, pepper, bread, cracker, floral, pine, light nuttiness, light citrus zest, grass, and herbal spiciness. Good amount of spicy pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of light fruits, cracker, bread, light nuttiness, pine, citrus, pepper, floral, grass, and herbal spiciness on the finish for a good bit. Good balance and complexity of flavors with big hoppiness; fair amount of malt balance; and a fair amount of cloying spicy pine bitterness after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a fairly creamy, slick, and crisp mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a small warming noticed after the finish. Definitely a sipper with all of the intense hop flavors. Overall this is a nice imperial pilsner. Good flavor complexity and solid balance; and quite smooth to sip on. I enjoyed this quite a bit, despite the cloying hop bitterness.

Very slightly hazy golden coloured body with a super, nine plus centimetre thick off-white head that fades nicely. Aroma of grass, hay, yeast, bread, alcohol, oranges and a twinge of metal. Medium to Full-bodied; Deep malty flavour with a ton of alcohol noticeable, a lot of hay, grass, herbal and barnyardie qualities with a pungent yeast kick and a little sugar at the end. Aftertaste shows a nice complex flavour, especially for the style, with perhaps too much alcohol noticeable, but some nice grassy notes and a bit of sweetness too. Overall, a nice beer and one from Magic Hat that I was actually kind of looking forward to sample. Buy and try it if you can find it, but this was the only time I saw the bottle. I sampled this 75 cL bottle purchased from Liqour Outlet in Boonton, New Jersey on 22-April-2012 for US$8.65 sampled at home in Washington on 02-October-2012.

Location: 750 ml bottle from State Line, 7/31/12, Rating # 2300

Aroma: The nose has some fruit, pilsner malts, grass, earth, and floral notes
Appearance: Pours a cloudy golden-orange color with a frothy white head and heavy lace
Flavor: Tastes medium-plus sweet, similar to the nose, with a light hops/light hot malt finish
Palate: It's medium-plus bodied, has a smooth, creamy, slightly sticky feel, and finishes mildly hot and dry
Overall Impression: I tend to be fairly unexcited by much of what I've tried from Magic Hat, and while this wasn't incredible, I think it's a top Magic Hat offering for me. You know that typical MH taste? I didn't get much of that here, so that's nice... While this still wasn't a great beer, it's good to see a generally mediocre brewery showing a little bit of improvement. That's about as complimentary as I can get on this one.

Pours deep gold into a Sam glass. White head with excellent retention pancakes as it slowly recedes. Sourdough and caramel aromas. Thick and sweet with caramel and toffee upfront turning hot in the lasting sour earth finish.
