A nutty twist to an American Red Ale. Crimson in colour with a hazelnut aroma, a rich nutty flavour with a hint of citrus, and a smooth malty finish.

Keg at Fourpure. It pours deep reddish - brown with a small beige head. The aroma is earthy, woody, toasted nut, bready, leather and spice. The taste is bitter - sweet, woody, resin, toasted nut, spice, chewy malt, leather, tannin and rivita with a toasty finish. Medium body and fine, foamy carbonation. Not so bad for a festive beer, but lacks drinkability.

On tap at the brewery Bermondsey. Deep ruby red colour lasting beige head. Sweetish malt aroma. A little light where it should be punchy. Needs a fuller esb style malt bill. Light malt christmasy caramel. Its not great.

Keg at the brewery tap. Pours clear copper with a creamy, off-white head. The nose holds toasted grains, nuts, caramel. Medium sweet flavour with well toasted caramel, hints of earth, more grains, nutty accents. Light to medium bodied with average carbonation. Lightly oily in the finish, a little toffee, vanilla, slight pine, brown bread. Good one. Well put together.
