What better time of the year for our Imperial Mexican Style Dark Lager with vanilla beans, cocoa nibs, cinnamon and Mammoth's own Black Velvet coffee? Dos Osos comes out of the tanks ready for us to toast the local bears coming out of hibernation. So as a nod to spring time in the Sierra and groggy bears, we are drinking Dos Osos.

Bottle courtesy of the California stand at The World Travel Market 2018, Excel, London. A murky dark brown/amber coloured pour with a medium beige head on top. Malty, coffee, spice aroma. Tastes malty, coffee, spice, some cinnamon. Quite well made and interesting enough.

Bomber via trade, thanks Arturo @ Sebletitje post-Vini, Birre, Ribelli 2017.

Thanks to Sebletitje! Bomber sampled @ Sebletitje post-“Vini, Birre, Ribelli 2017” dinner. Dark brown amber, tanned head. Nose is vegetable coffee, vegetable cacao, plants,… Taste is sweet vegetable cacao, tonka bean, weird weeds, sweet plants, sweet herbal, leaves, bay leaf,… Thin bodied. Not my thing, weird vegetable & thin but definitely a different kind of lager.

Bomber from Bine & Vine. Pours dark copper with a creamy beige/tan head. Aroma of coffee, chocolate, spice, perhaps vanilla. Med body. Flavor is coffee forward. Chocolate cinnamon follows. Vanilla is pretty subtle. There seems to be enough cinnamon to suggest mild pepper. The malt is dark. It has a certain earthiness to the finish. It’s not finishing wholly dry, but for me it’s best described as dry. Perhaps I’m making too much of this, but it seems complex, then seems not complex. I keep smacking my lips. Interesting and tasty.
