A ‘Pyment’ (pie-ment) is a mead made with grapes. This one is made with clover honey, shiraz grape juice, and natural wildberry concentrate. It is full bodied and semi-sweet. Makes a great sangria or try it over ice as a spritzer.

Bottle shared in MV. Pours clear, blood red. Vibrant aroma, lots of berry-laced honey juice. Medium to big sweet flavour with a little boozy warmth, more berries, light tartness, rich honey on the background. Medium to full bodied, just slightly oily. Finishes with a little warmth and a little dryness, some raspberry, light sweet bitterness, some creamy honey. Fun stuff.

Damn good! Med-full sweetness; red grape/berries/floral/earthy spice/light vanilla. Balanced sweet/tannic/drying finish. Warming but smooth. --- Beer merged from original tick of B. Nektar Wildberry Pyment on 27 Aug 2016 at 18:05 - Score: 8. Original review text:

Bottle at RBBWG 2016 in Antwerpen. Clear, deep red, no head. Sweetish, slightly fruity aroma of caramel, honey, red grapes and hints of vanilla. Sweet, slightly fruity taste of caramel, honey, red grapes and some vanilla, followed by a long, slightly sourish, warming and rather alcoholic finish. Medium to full body, oily mouthfeel. Very nice!

Sampled from bottle @ Ratebeer Belgian Winter Gathering 2016. Nice ruby red amber color, virtually no head. Very nice sweet red fruit influence in the aroma. Taste also has that nice red fruit flavor. Some honey, light alcohol. Very very nice mead. Love this! 9-4-9-4-16 [4.2]. -- Rerating February 2019: Tap at Zeezicht, Breda. Beautiful deep dark red to purple color, no head. Pleasant aroma of honey sweetness, sweet raspberry mixed with red currant which adds a different sort of sugary sweet hint but also seems to provide a slight tart note. This promises to be an interesting flavor! And it is, although in the end, the aroma suggested a build up to something even more complex in flavor, but I think I enjoyed sniffing it more than actually drinking. Smooth, soft, a light alcohol presence, red fruit and honey both fight for full attention. The different flavors roll on top of each other on your tongue over and over again. A fine mead for sure. 9-4-7-5-15[4.0] (mixed the two ratings to give it 4.1 now)

Bottle, pours a deep dark burgundy with no head. Nose brings out rich berries, red wine notes and a touch of wild qualities. Flavour is sweet, with rich sweet berries, red wine and lots of booze. Well-balanced and complex. Not having much experience with pyments, I'm not the best judge, but this is very enjoyable.
