0.33 l bottle from 'Het Biermoment', best before November 2021, cellared for over a year. A little hazy, very dark ruby with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, slightly fruity aroma of molasses, bourbon, vanilla and a touch of raisins. Quite sweet, intensely malty, a little fruity taste of molasses, bourbon, vanilla and some raisins, followed by a long, gently bitter, slightly boozy, warming finish. Medium to full body, smooth and slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Tasty Barley Wine, very intense and rich, pretty close to the Jack Daniels version, maybe a little more refined.

Clear amber beer, small bubbly pale tan head. Palate is annoyingly thin and fairly dry, just modest carbonation. Some slightly bitterish caramel and toffee in the malts. Plenty of straight on bourbon, some spice and bitter fruity bourbon and wet wood. Thin dry finish. It’s not awful and certainly delivers the Heaven Hill but the palate just pisses me off.

Bottle shared thanks to sjogro. Bit hazy deep amber with creamy beige head. Flowery bourbon on the nose, vanilla, yogurt, sweet malts, fresh figs, alcohol, dried red fruits, red wine, paper, hay, dry old wood, bitter dusty herbs mixed with creamy fruit pie. Quite sweet but also quite bitter. Full bodied with slight boozy finish.
