[50cl can from Beer52.] A mahogany brown coloured pour with a fast fading beige head; malty aroma; soft malty taste with a smooth texture, some sugar, toast, and a light spicy bitterness; then a rather thin malty finish.

Half litre can via Beer52. Poured into an old 'Wolnzacher Brauhaus' Hopfenperle glass stein at home on 10th December 2025. The first beer of a tasting session with myself; Bertie watching, Margie and Auntie Sue drinking wine. Deep brown body with a red hue, tanned roof that didn't last too long. Malts ruled the nose and taste, light bitterness and a decent body depth for the style (in my limited knowledge of 'Schwarz Bier'). Good start to the little tasting session.

500ml can. Pours a light black with beige head. Aroma of wood, toasted malt, some hop pepperiness. Taste of toasted dark malts, some woody and light herbal hops, moderately sweet and bitter. Light to mid bodied, semi drying. Decent.

Can, thx Fil! Brownish clear body, beige head. Raisins and prunes in the sweet aroma, light herbal notes. Creamy malty taste, clean, caramel and little mint. Quite okay, clean, if a bit too sweet.

Appearance: clear deep brown with a large ivory-coloured frothy head of medium retention. Aroma and taste: toasted malt, bread, good hop. Light sweet, light to medium bitter. Mouth feel: light body, average carbonation. Overall: pretty drinkable. --- Beer merged from original tick of Setzlinger Original Bayerisches Schwarzbier on 05 Jun 2019 at 20:28 - Score: Appearance - 10 | Aroma - 7 | Flavor - 7 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 6.5. Original review text: Misty deep brown. Decent ivory head. Nose: toasted and roasted malts, hops. Light body. Taste: medium dry, clean, malty and hoppy. Pretty hoppy. Medium bitterness. This is really what a proper schwarzbier should be.

Dunkler, leicht metallerner Malzantrunk. Leicht bitter im Mittelteil, die zuvor vorhandenen Röstnoten verschwinden fast vollständig. Kurzer Nachgeschmack. Langweilig aber trinkbar. 7/8/7/7/8/7
