Bottle: Pours cloudy amber with a small tan head. Pumpkin pie filling, juicy fruit aroma. Creamy, pumpkin pie, crust and spice taste. Vanilla, nutmeg, cinnamon.... Nice, subdued heat from the barreling. An exceptional Pumpkin Ale.

Bottle purchased at Boynton liquor on the recommendation of the owner. Pours cloudy amber chestnut with a very small tan head that quickly dissipates to a ring that nevertheless laces pretty well. Aroma is very pumpkiny, some vanilla present, and the muted notes of standard pumpkin spices, particularly nutmeg and allspice. Flavor is medium plus sweet, quite spicy, cloves coming through pretty strong on the palate, not a lot of bitterness, but pumpkin flesh and vanilla are both present. I am not getting a lot of barrel notes, perhaps some astringence from the wood and a bit of brandy heat, but very subdued. Full bodied and silky, with very low carbonation. I am not a huge clove guy, but this one kind of works for me. I am NOT Scott Purchase, but I still recommend this biere. On Wisconsin!

12oz bottle pours with a nearly clear copper body that has gold hues and supports a thin white head. The aroma offers up modest pumpkin notes, a bit of a tart edge and then soft mild cinnamon and nutmeg. The taste is on the bright side with winter and pumpkin pie spices. It gets sweeter with sugary malts and sweet lagery apple like esters to midway and on into the finish. Decent but typical where the spiciness overshadows what little pumpkin is going on.

Sampled at GABF 2013. Pours a hazy orange with some creamy, white head. Spicy nose, yams, cinnamon, booze, caramelized sugar. Sweet flavor, root veg, spice, booze. Sweet finish, but smoother than I thought. Actually fairly well balanced.
