12 ounce bottle from Whole Foods Milwaukee. Slightly hazy amber, large foamy off-white head, good retention. Aroma of yeast, apple, spice, bread. The taste is spicy, yeast, bread, dandelion, herbal notes, plum. Medium bodied, earthy, lingering spice. Solid.

12 ounce bottle. Pours a hazy honey gold color topped by a massive pillowy white head that stays around. Yeasty malt nose has bready notes. Flavor is sharp bready malt and hay. Some bitterness. Some clove and vanilla. Complex and spicy with earthy notes. Spicy hops in finish have grassy, citrus notes. I liked this a lot. Don’t understand why ratings are so low. Excellent example of a Farmhouse Ale.

Bottle: Pours cloudy orange-yellow with a short, off-white head. Sweet fruit, barnyard aroma. Taste is lemony, fruity, slightly yeasty, with a mild, spicy/bitter peppering. Pretty good.

One pint bottle - pours a burnished copper with some very fine suspended particles - pour has some initial fizzy carbonation, but the beer very quickly becomes nearly still - no bubbles, no head - nose is quite sweet - strong tropical fruitiness - strong bubblegum esters - strong spiciness - the beer feels nearly flat in the mouth - quite sweet - flavors of apricot, bubblegum, mildly husky grains - strong bitterness and spices arrive late, washing away the sweetness - however, the finish then becomes overly bitter and far too spicy - also feels far too slick and heavy in the mouth for the style - messy.

Metallic citrus aroma. Nifty fun things floating around in a yellow beer. Flavor of mild lemon furniture polish, but in a good way, heheh. I’m liking these hinters more and more. Not bad for an over the sixer. Does not completely hide the bitterness but it comes across rather refreshing.

Tap at Old Fashioned. Hazy dulled orange-tan. Thin off-white head. Lots of carbonation. Big-time spice bomb. Lively, lacks subtlety. Peachy cinnamon, kind of intense and odd, though quite drinkable. Ginger, coriander, lemon. Unrefined.

Bottle at the Funky 8, Brooklyn, NYC. Quite spicy and herbal. Just a bit too sweet to be really good. Drinkable stuff as it is.

Bottle. Cloudy gold/orange body. Short, fizzy, white head. Muted aroma of clove, pepper, spice. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly sweet and lightly to moderately bitter with the bitterness lasting into the finish. Medium body, velvety texture, soft carbonation. Spice (all-spice, clove, pepper) tastes forced, infused. Flabby malts are thick. Lacks separation of flavors. Could be dryer, more carbonated. Overall, muddled.

A hazed golden saison with a thin off white head. In aroma, nice perfumey malt with light white pepper, citrus pulp, very nice. In mouth, a nice smooth sweet incense malt, with light peppery notes, vanilla, nice and smooth. On tap at Istmus Beer and Cheese Fest, Jan 21 2012.
