This beer is called Heksen & trollen, that translates as Witches & Trolls. Why? We know why but we don't tell! The beer is a Saison, an old Belgian and northern France beer-style. At high temperatures fermented to make it very spicy and refreshing. Lots of citrus in the taste, but with a bitter finish. Light cloudy, blond. Formally known as White Witch

Keg at the Bottle Shop - Bermondsey. Pours clear gold with a creamy, white head. The nose has some perfume, lemon peel, wheat. Light-medium sweet flavour with slight grassy bitterness, crispy hay, lemon rind. Light bodied with average carbonation. Fairly clean on the finish, some light doughy wheat, lemon meringue, hay, biscuits. Tasty saison.

At a tasting, thanks, big bubbly slightly dense head, cloudy deep yellow with orange hues, spicy lemony aroma with some woodiness, yeasty, almond flavor with some light bread and grass Iin the back, light to medium bitterness, grassy fruity aftertaste. Simple saison but quite nice.

330ml bottle. As Heksen & Trollen. (6.1% ABV) Pours a hazy golden with a huge, frothy, long lasting, white head that laces nicely. Sweet aroma of citrus, wheat, yeast and light spice. Sweet, slightly acidic flavour of lemon, straw, yeast and spices with a dry, bitter, hoppy finish. Medium body with a watery texture and lively carbonation. Not bad.

tap at Arendsnest in Amsterdam - Pours hazy pale yellow and very bubbly. It has a lightly sweet, fruity flavor that gives way to high bitterness for the style. It finishes dry and is a tasty brew.
