This beer is called Heksen & trollen, that translates as Witches & Trolls. Why? We know why but we don't tell! The beer is a Saison, an old Belgian and northern France beer-style. At high temperatures fermented to make it very spicy and refreshing. Lots of citrus in the taste, but with a bitter finish. Light cloudy, blond. Formally known as White Witch

Bottle as "heksen en trollen" (alias; 6,1%). Color: Clear golden, white head. Taste: Combination of flowery and citrus hops. Mildly bitter with a fruity citrus twist. Medium to light bittery finish. Rather complex taste but not really my favourite style.

Bottled 330ml as "Heksen & Trollen" (Beergium, bottled 01/07/15)
Slightly hazy yellow color, small white head, small lacing. Aroma is peppery, spicey, riped fruits and citrus. Medium-bodied. Peppery, riped fruits, citric. Watery finish. A bit aged bottle - quite spicey Saison which lacks esters or fruityness.

BOTTLE 33 CL as Heksen & Trollen at 6,1%. Hazy golden, spongy head. Pretty sweet but also spicy aroma - overripe white grapes, honey, wild herbs and spicy alcohols. The taste is not that spectacular - not sweet, neither very dry, slightly honeyish and fruity, light dank herbal zesty bitterness. Good, overall.

Helder lichtgeel bier met weinig schuim. Smaak is krachtig, licht friszuur en bitter hoppig, licht kruidig en met iets van fris fruit, ananas en citrus.

Sample at SBWF 2016. (as Heksen & Trollen) A bit hazy golden with a white head. Aroma of yeast, spices, fruit and some wheat. Similar taste, also some light malt. Rather soft and easy to drink.

Nice whit-yellow pour, white foam rising to the hights. Just a amazing nose, funk and light fruits, just this kind of saison character that I like. Taste is not losing either - it has peppers, even sansho, some herbal spice bitterness. Sort of raw vegetal bitterness, which is actually just about right for this beer. Finish is dry, lingering, a bit tart.

330ml bottle. Pours very pale and a little fizzy. Aroma is plenty of funk and white wine. Flavour is also lots of lemon, white wine and spicy ginger. Very light and drinkable, hiding the 6% extremely well.
