On tap at Hops Beerstró, Trieste, shared with Ogi. Dark brown, small tan head. Aroma is toasty, almost roasty, bready. Dried fruit, prunes in the flavour. Good caramel and toffee profile also. Not too thick, medium body, soft carbonation. Sweetness. Lasting finish, a bit sweet.

Pours mid-brown, looks almost black in the glass with a not too big but rather dense off-white head. Shows decent retention and nice lacing. Average intensity in a soft aroma: a nutty malt base with the slightest roasted hints to it and a vivid note of milk chocolate. Distant fruitiness (dried/dark fruits) and the slightest oaky/leathery feel. The aroma suggested a very soft/sweet beer, but it's not really so in taste: a semi-soft, semi-dense malty base with nuttiness and slight molasses, a faint hint of chocolate, light dark/dried fruit notes, faint roasted hints. A little on the sweet edge in the mouth, edging towards bitterness in a dry and slightly astringent finish and aftertaste, which leaves a leafy, slightly leathery feel. Overall a quite complex and pleasant taste, though mouth and aftertaste feel quite disconnected to me. Medium to dense bodied with quite low, delicate carbonation, resulting in a soft and slightly dense, slightly creamy feel. Very much enjoyable, though i was not impressed.

From the bottle at Birraio dell'anno 2022, Florence, Italy. Pours fairly dark brown, with irregular, minimal foam. Aroma is malty, burnt caramel / a little molasses. Body is somehow dense, with average carbonation, kinda soft. Taste is medium-high sweet, though the final is average.

Bottle, thanks Bazz! Spot on murky dark brown, off white creamy tiny head. Lovely fruity estery and malty aroma, vague peppery estery touches. This could pass as a top quality Belgian strong dark ale. Taste... Maltiness degenerating into a meaty yeastiness, sweetish. Just... Like a crappy Belgian strong dark. This beer made me happy and then made me sad.
