BBD 2024 Smell-weak malt, weak Belgian tones. Foam- thin, malt, caramel. Head is large, white with orange color. Appearance- generic bottle cap, simple label. Clear-ish orange color, no carbonation. From - pint Price - 3,49 for 0.33 l. Taste- malty, weak caramel, weak roast, weak fruits. Not bad, a bit acidic in the background. Fine brew. Alcohol is well hidden.

Flesje thuis gedronken. Amberkleurig bier met een volle schuimkraag die als een film blijft liggen. Alcohol / armagnac achtige geur. De smaak is moutig en zoetig. Nasmaak is fruitig en licht hoppig.

Bottle from Carrefour, Bruges. Apparently restyled a bit, perhaps for broader supermarket distribution. Hazy dark golden, stable, small, frothy, white head. Aroma of apple slice, pear, plum, golden raisin, biscuit, honey, wet wood, alcohol. Taste has sweetish apple, plum & pear in a biscuity & caramelly malt body, bit honeyish, going over a spicy, phenolic middle which is slightly metallic too. Ends peppery hoppy, with wet wood, subtle dried fruits & boozy armagnac alcohol. Medium body, slick texture, fizzy carbonation. I wonder what the original batch tasted like, because this to me lacks character, even if there's enough of it in the alcohol department.

33cl bottle (BBF: 2023) from Carrefour market @ in Tervuren near Brussels. F: big, egg-white, long lasting. C: amber, hazy. A: sweet malty, honey, banana, dried fruits, woody touch, caramel, bit spicy. T: full malty base, mellow fruity, honey, banana, apricot, woody, light caramel, bit vanilla, medium carbonation, more on the sweet side yet quite nice, enjoyed.

Tight creamy off white head stayed on a caramel coloured still body. Malt & brandy aroma. Medium bodied, tingly on the front with a smooth clean back. Demerara, malt, brandy, whisky & sweet berry tastes with a long tangy finish. May improve if cellared....

Essayons de positiver, cette Lazarus à l'armagnac est moins pire que celle au sherry. Ok, il est impossible de reconnaître l'armagnac. Ok, cette bière n'est pas équilibrée. Ok, je regrette d'avoir encore celle au whisky à déguster. Mais je suis certain que je vais réussir à lui trouver une qualité…hum…en fait non, quoi que, j'ai pu la finir, c'est déjà ça. En verre, sans être exceptionnel, c'est acceptable tout de même avec un blond orangé quasi limpide parcouru par de grosses bulles et surmonté d'une mousse blanc cassé de 5 mm. Au nez nous avons des arômes de miel, pêche, pain, fut de chêne, banane, pomme avec une pointe citronnée. Ne cherchez pas l'Armagnac, cela ne sert à rien. À la dégustation non plus d'ailleurs qui reprend les arômes présents au nez auxquels s'ajoutent des épices et un alcool au relent de gin qui s'intègre mal à l'ensemble. Le sucre est trop dosé ce qui alourdit la bouche. La texture, douce, est agréable cependant. En deuxième bouche ce sont des arômes de poivre qui s'ajoutent à la base toujours aussi lourde et à l'alcool toujours aussi mal intégré et qui ressort davantage. C'est d'ailleurs en arrière-bouche qu'il s'exprime le plus, en étant d'autant plus dissonant. Le final, bien qu'un peu plus fraîche et aérienne n'arrive pas à relever l'ensemble et qui reste plombé par cet alcool et cette base maltée. Rien à réellement reprocher à la corpulence et à la longueur. Quand on indique Armagnac, j'aime avoir de l'Armagnac. A défaut, je me serai satisfait d'une bière équilibrée.

Bottle. Golden color. Malt and a hint of oak in the shyish aroma. Malty sweet flavor, soft floral, citrus, fruity. Brandy and oak.

On tap in the Bier Paleis, Brugge; 4th July 2019. Sat in the sun out back: these guys have 'upped their game' with some interesting taps to supliment the huge bottle selection they have. Hazy orange body, off-white crown. Boozy and sweet with maybe a hint of Armagnac if your senses are working at 100% (which mine were not).

Lichtbruin bier met mooie schuimkraag. Smaak is licht bitter hoppig en licht zoet fruitig met iets van citrus en abrikoos. Geen idee of de armagnac daar nog in terug komt maar dit bier is gewoon best goed.
