21/XI/17 - on tap @ Horeca Expo (Ghent) - BB: n/a (2017-1915) Thanks to the brewers for today's samples and my Ghent beer posse for sharing the glasses and keeping my liver sane. :p

Little hazy dark chestnut brown beer, no head. Aroma: lots of alcohol, bit sourish, some dried fruits, caramel, pretty oxidized, sweetish, some raisins. Not getting any typical vanilla bourbon notes, but smells rather pleasant. MF: soft carbon, medium to full body. Taste: bit sweetish, alcohol, sugary, some caramel, dried fruits, slightly bitter touch, overall sweetness with some oxidation. Aftertaste: little sourish, oxidized, walnuts (mold), malty, oxidized. I get the feeling the quality of these Tennessee Whisky barrels was not very good. Were they transported too empty, resulting in dried out barrels, leaving room for mold to develop and for the beer to oxidise once it was in the barrels? Last year's cognac edition was WAY better!

Thanks to Kraddel / Beerlover_Ben. Draft. Tiny barrel, tap installation or a cask version who knows? Amber orange. Man the sweet whisky is massive on top of the caramel, sugar, toffee, candy, rich thick less bourbon & more just boozy sugar whisky Jack Daniels? It works really well, big sugar, candy, sweet, caramel, oak, basically no carbonation, sugar, oak, candy. All oxidized sugar, oak barley wine goodness in a relatively fresh beer, oh my, really loved it even if others hated it oddly.
