Manchester helped drive the Industrial Revolution and shape the modern world. That spirit of innovation, enterprise and collaboration was given a symbol - the worker bee. We've celebrated the plucky bee, and the wisdom and effort of our citizens, by creating a golden-coloured beer with a creamy head and a big heart.

Cask at the Back of Beyond (JDW), Reading. Rich gold colour with a white head. Lemon, white bread and a touch of caramel. Just the right amount of bitterness. Reasonably full mouthfeel. A very traditional gold that's actually quite alright (if a little unexciting).

Cask at the moon under water Watford Jdw. A clear mid gold coloured pour with a lasting creamy white head. Aroma is subdued, nutty malts, buttered bread, dried grass straw. Flavour is composed of earthy pale grains, straw, dried grass, some dried fruit. Palate is semi sweet, rounded, decent cask condition. Not bad.

Cask @ White Hart, Todmorden. Clear bright golden with a head. Easy enough with a bitterness and some maltiness - which is very much the signature style of many brews out of Lees. This is a golden ale in style though with a hint of sweetness in the mix too.
