Cask at Butlers Bell, Stafford. Pours a golden yellow with minimal scummy off-whitehead and good lacing. The aroma goes strongly on sweet malts, though there are traces of apples as well. In the mouth the initial sensation is stale bread and sweet malts, but fairly quickly traditional hops show through along with pine and grains. The finish is dry, bitter and somewhat off-putting. Not too keen on this one.

[Cask at the Claude du Vall (JDW), Camberley.] A pale amber pour with a thin white head; orangey aroma; light citrus taste with a biscuity malt base; and a sour fruity finish. Uninteresting.

Cask @ Salopian bar. Pours clear gold, thin white bubbles atop. Toffee and pale malt on the nose. Taste is surprisingly luscious and flavoursome presenting a vibrant toffee sweetness with tropical nods, fairly smooth and a touch oily on the palate with a low bitterness. But yeah, packs a punch this.
