500ml bottle conditioned; BB Jan 2021. Drank at home on 4th Nov 2020. Sediment had settled on the bottle base, so I got a clean and almost clear dark mahogany body, full beige crown on top. Cinnamon ruled the nose and initial taste, sweet candid fruits and maltiness followed. Christmas in a bottle!

Danke an minutemat. Süffiger, trocken-süßer Beginn, kräutrig, vor allem Zimt, etwas Karamell. Moderat herb, abnehmende Intensität, spritzig, zum Ende minimal bitter und Schokolade. 10/11/10/10/9/10

500ml bottle from Appleyards. Pours lightly hazed deep dark brown, off white cap. Aroma brings much of the essence of Christmas pudding.. spicy orange, dried dark fruits. Taste continues along these lines with moist cakey moments, nice chewy dark malt, interesting sweet spicy notes. Thought this might be quite tame, but it's a lovely flavourful Christmas beer. At last a Christmas real ale that actually tastes like a Christmas beer!
