Believe it or not, Arron is big on Mediterranean culture; and when we were looking for a name for our newest Augment beer, he suggested a reference to the Morphou region of Cyprus, famed for its citrus fruits, of which our beers pack the flavour profiles to the nines with.
We noticed looking at a map of the region, a little village called Kyra jumped out at us, and a name was born.
We delved a little deeper, and discovered a meaning of the name literally translating from the Ancient Egyptian “like Ra” or “Beam of Light”. This beer completely fits its translation; pure sunshine trapped in a glass to remind you of dear, departed summer.

Can. Third attempt to enter this rating. Ratebeer - sort your shit out! Sick of it! Very hazy gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is light and fairly dry and has a good fine crispness. Smooth creamy malts in contrast with quite a pithy and harshly bitter hop bill. Has some brighter and fresher tasting citrus on the back end with a somewhat tangy pine. Dry and bitterish finish. Fine but too harsh for me to really get in to. Nice can design though!

Can at home, 11/10/19. Murky orange with a decent white cap that dissipates to a swirl. Nose is ripe melon, bitter orange, weed, pine needle, dank hop spice, grapefruit. Taste comprises raw citric flesh, chalky mineral bite, orange pith, grass, citric tinged straw. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, drying close spiked with earthy hop bitterness. Not bad but after a great aroma the taste came over a little on the raw and harsh side.

440ml can watching the Netflix Ted Bundy documentary. Pours murky orange, modest white bubbles. Aroma has light orange citric tropics. Fluffy light palate. Taste is a little thin, some modest orange citrus, straw, grapefruit, thin light drying body. Lacks the lusciously full-bodied exotic character that I enjoy from its NEIPA brethren but a fair sipper overall.
