Bottle thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - black wth a beige head. Nose - brown sugar and toffee. Some chocolate too. Taste - creamy toffee, roasted malt and creamy milk chocolate. Palate - close to medium bodied, creamy in texture. A bit sweet on the finish. Overall - pleasant but a bit simple.

Cask @ King’s Head, Huddersfield. Extremely dark with a creamy, slightly off-white head. It’s dense, with a sweeter nose than taste with most of its toffee character here. There’s less obvious dark malts in a more neutralised taste.

Bottle. Beer Central, Sheffield. Clear, deep cola brown. Thin, dense, semi lacing, lasting, beige head. Nose has Highland Toffee. Sugary coffee. Dried vine fruit. Milky chocolate. Smells sweet, if ever there was such a thing. Taste is a little sweet, with a slightly earthy, vinous bitterness. Light body. Pretty smooth. Fine carbonation. Dry vine fruit bitterness to finish. North Riding bossing the dark beers again.

Cask @ Salopian, the pub. Pours dark, frothy tan head. Good toffee and chocolate on the nose. Taste is fairly sweet toffee, chocolate, dark malts, toffee starting to fade somewhat towards the end. A fun novelty porter.
