440ml can. Peaty, smoky and roasty with some licorice, maple syrup and sticky toffee notes. A bit too sticky and syrupy.

Smoky and sweet? A tad odd.

Well this is fun! I like smoke, I like maple, but the combination is a new one for me. It works exceptionally well! Smoke adds meatyness, maple sweetness. Nice, roasty body, fairly bitter, good dose of coffee. Weird, complex and yum.

11th June 2019, Shrewsbury Bottle Exchange Group in Chez Sophie. Cheers Simon for the 440ml can of this, our 11.5% ABV night cap. Black bodied brew, wispy tanned head. Peaty little number with a smooth body, far too easy to drink. Very pleasant last drink of the session.

Can @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie, June '19. Smoky nose, taste is sweet, smoky with maple, chocolate, dark malt and mirage-like peaty leanings. Smooth easy drinker. A nice end to the night.

Appearance is black, with a thick bubbly light brown head. Aroma- caramel, toffee, maple syrup, fudge, rich chocolate caramel cake, vanilla hints, bit of booze, strong Belgian ale. Taste- sweet maple syrup, caramel, toffee, caramel cake, dark fudgy malt, chocolate, nutty malt, latte, soft carbonation, sweet finish. One for the sweet-toothed.
