75cl bottle (10.5%) from National Brewery Centre, Burton on Trent. Pours clear gold, good white ring atop that persists throughout. Aroma presents gentle bourbon, caramel, nutty vanilla, butterscotch. Oily palate, minimal carbonation. Taste presents maturing, evolving swirls initially starting out with caramel and butterscotch notes, before introducing almond and coconut notes. Hard to distinguish the character of the cider used, it appears a medium dry blend was used though no noticeable tannin or astringency remains. Character seems to remain almost exclusively on the bourbon barrel influence. No bad thing, but a little more cider apple fruit presence would be nice.

On tap @ Covenhoven BK during their cider week event. Clear, mad gold body. Is this still? Possibly. Smells of melon, vanilla & heavy wood. Taste is half tart, boozy, bourbon-y, yeasty, dusty texture. Sweet, browned/oxidized apples. Dry mouth & very meh.
