Very dark brown with a creamy tan head. Lightly sweet chocolate, malt, a touch of earth and wood, some fruity sweetness. Medium bodied. Very nice.

(Cask at Lyric, Soho, London, 22 May 2023) Dark brown colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of chocolate, coffee and dark bread. Malty, roasted taste with chocolate, milky coffee, liquorice, black bread and a mild cacao bitterness. Medium body, with a slight sweetness. Tasty and well balanced porter. Nice one.

Cask at the Queens Head, Stourbridge. Pours jet black with a medium head. Aroma is woody liquorice and dark fruits. Taste has woody dark fruits throughout. A bit watery in parts.

Cask at the tiny tavern. Black colour with a pale tan head. Aroma and taste malty roasted and light sweet. Smooth body.

Cask at Brewery Tap, Burton - Clear deep ruby body, thin white top. Nose is lightly roasted malts, bit of coffee, bit of chocolate. Bit watery.

Cask @ The Brewery Tap, National Brewery Centre. Pours dark ruby, frothy pale tan head. Aroma of barley malt, chocolate. Taste is light, some gentle milk chocolate, low roast, light bitterness with some dark fruit moments. Good solid old-style porter.
